'Battlefield 3' Development Confirmed

by Rainier on June 10, 2009 @ 1:35 p.m. PDT

Battlefield 3 not only includes its signature multiplayer potion, but also a full single-player campaign and a co-op campaign featuring the return of jets, prone, and 64-player multiplayer (on PC), all powered by the new Frostbite 2 game engine..
While it wasn't exactly a super secret, EA has yet to officially announce that DICE is working on the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. Apart from the upcoming Bad Company 2, most titles the Swedish studio has been working on were console iterations, but at a recent conference, EA's COO John Pleasants confirmed Battlefield 3, saying that he "was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product." Don't get your hopes up just yet; it isn't due for quite a while.
