A Fallout MMO has been talked about since 2004, but Interplay was forced to sell off most of its licenses due to financial reasons. When Bethesda acquired the Fallout license, Interplay kept an exclusive Fallout MMO license, under certain conditions. Recently Bethesda filed suit against Interplay trying to obtain the complete Fallout rights, which has so far unsuccessful. According to speculations one of the reasons may be the Bethesda's MMO department is working on a new "World of Warcraft" style game, information revealed in the court case against Interplay, which it is now trying to get redacted from the transcripts in order to hide it from the competition.
