GameShastra has announced an agreement with mobile phone and digital console games publisher P1 Sports Limited which will see over 10 new sports titles available for download on PlayStation Portable and PSP Go, with other handheld formats included over time.

Over the coming year GameShastra will develop and co-publish versions of P1 Sports mobile games, which include games and simulations based around the world's most popular sports, including pool, cricket, rugby, snooker, golf, tennis, darts, fishing and poker.

Based on the proven gameplay mechanics of the smartphone versions, the GameShastra titles will benefit from enhanced visuals and sound and refined control methods. And with many of the mobile versions bestowed with accolades on their original release, these PSP version are sure to prove immensely popular.

"This is a real sign of intent from GameShastra," says Prakash Ahuja, CEO, GameShastra, Inc. "The P1 Sports games have already proved enormously popular on their respective formats, and we're proud to be bringing them to a whole new audience. With some of the biggest names in sport attached to the biggest names in mobile gaming, this agreement is brilliant news for all PSP owners. Over the coming months we will expand not just the games we're publishing, but the formats they are available."

"With a broad catalogue of titles already well established within the mobile arena, P1 Sports has been looking to partner with a developer with the skillset and experience to extend our sports game franchises onto new platforms," adds Martin Ogden, Director, P1 Sports. "GameShastra's experience across emerging digital game platforms makes it the clear choice of partner, and will ensure the rave reviews we've received for our mobile games will translate to the PSP Mini versions. We're delighted to have reached this agreement with GameShastra and can't wait to see a whole new audience playing our games."

Specific release dates will be announced soon.
