by Rainier on April 7, 2010 @ 9:27 a.m. PDT

AQUA is an action-arcade title in a Victorian-era-inspired maritime setting featuring appealing storytelling and gigantic steamships going into battle.

In “AQUA” the player will take control of an elite cruiser and steer into the middle of a raging naval war where masses of enemies and allies engage in real-time operations. Being attacked from above and below the water surface the player has to destroy masses of enemies’ troops to be victorious. By unlocking new ship-types, weapons and upgrades, the player will have the opportunity to enhance his ship and gear up for the next fight. Choosing from various tactics and forming special supporting squadrons, the player will also have the option to command offensive and defensive troops in order to overcome large enemy formations and defensive installations.

“We are proud that AQUA will be released by Microsoft Game Studios for Xbox Live Arcade, as this underlines our philosophy to deliver products of excellent quality and with a distinguishing mark within their segment. With AQUA, we want to take the genre of dual-stick arcade shooters an evolutionary step forward and deliver a story driven gaming experience on the vanguard of audiovisual quality compared to available arcade titles”, Juergen Reusswig, CEO and Development Director at Games Distillery comments.
