Featuring an unparalleled new party system that allows players to freely rotate characters on the fly during battle, Ys SEVEN arrives to the PSP in both standard and collector's editions, and via PSN download later this summer.

Adventurer Adol Christin arrives in the land of Altago with trusty Dogi at his side. A series of unfortunate events lands the pair in jail, on the charges of espionage. A timely intervention from the King of Altago, Kiemarl Ednas, pulls the duo out of jail and sets them on the path to adventure. An earthquake has rocked the land and unearthed a cryptic altar; King Ednas asks Adol to investigate the shrines. When Adol and Dogi arrive at the site, a mysterious voice greets them and upon touching the altar, Adol is granted special powers, just in time to defeat the giant beast that storms in behind them. Upon sharing their discovery with the king, King Ednas comes to believe the adventurers have been contacted by one of the Five Dragons, the mystic deities of Altago. King Ednas suggests that the truth behind the voice and Adol's strange new powers lie at the altars of the Five Great Dragons, and sends Adol on the quest of a lifetime.

Ys SEVEN features nine playable characters, each with their own fighting style, special abilities and variety of special weapons, including: sword, hammer, magic, bow and more. Four difficulty levels allow players of all backgrounds to experience the exciting action of Ys SEVEN in beautifully rendered 3D action and environments. Included with the new assets is a screen showcasing one of the winners of XSEED’s recent successful “Name in Game” contest, where fans submitted their names for a chance to be featured as an NPC. Fourteen winners in total were selected and appear throughout the game.

The battle system consists of a three-member battle party with enemies engaged on the field map in real-time for fast-paced combat. Old fans of the series and new players alike will be immersed into the rich, vibrant world containing over 30 hours of gameplay.
