by Rainier on Nov. 23, 2011 @ 4:07 p.m. PST

By distilling specialized game hardware out of the equation, OnLive allows games to be played as a pure media experience on virtually any device, with the same flexibility and instant-play experience that we’ve come to expect from online video and music.

OnLive, Inc., the pioneer of cloud gaming, announced its own take on the American Thanksgiving holiday today with a Five-Day Frag Feast featuring a cornucopia of deals and free-play games for new and current OnLive users, kicking off at 3:59 PM PST/11:59 PM GMT  today and running through 12:01 AM PST/8:01 AM GMT Monday, November 28th.

Players can log into their OnLive account from anywhere, or sign up free, to play Homefront and Red Faction: Armageddon free, as well as to take advantage of daily deals up to 75% off on dozens of incredible top-tier games.  The first new users to act will also be able to get their first OnLive game purchase of ANY title for only $1, including hot new releases, like Batman: Arkham City, Saint’s Row: The Third and L.A. Noire, and Lord of the Rings: War in the North (does not apply to pre-orders, and cannot be combined with other offers).

“OnLive has an  amazing fan base who deserve our thanks and appreciation, and we also want to extend a warm welcome to gamers checking out OnLive for the first time” said Steve Perlman, Founder and CEO of OnLive. “Whether OnLive gamers are home or traveling, they’ll be able to take advantage of our Frag Feast by playing on whatever PC or Mac they have on hand, or on their HDTV with the OnLive Game System, whether joining friends playing Homefront or Red Faction: Armageddon multiplayer for free, getting up to 75% discounts on great games, or getting your first game for $1.”

Daily deals will be announced on the and websites, as well as on Facebook and Twitter throughout the weekend, featuring dozens of titles from OnLive’s comprehensive library of over 175 games, including some of the season’s biggest blockbuster titles. First-time purchasers will be able to get any full-priced or sale game for just $1 while supplies last.
