Good Old Games Adds Heroes of Might & Magic Titles

by Rainier on March 10, 2011 @ 8:16 a.m. PST

GOG.com has signed a digital distribution agreement with Ubisoft, expanding its catalog with his classic RPG game series Heroes of Might & Magic, starting with HOMM VII, priced at $5.99, followed by HOMM IV, both Win7/Vista compatible, and DRM free.

This collaboration will bring additional games from Ubisoft's catalog of celebrated titles  to Good Old Games’ customers, along with the opportunities to participate in new contests and quests managed and run by Good Old Games, associated with the games.

The first games being re-released as part of this partnership are available now. They include Might and Magic 7: For Blood and Honor, and Heroes of Might and Magic IV Complete Edition, both critically lauded games in the Might and Magic universe. Might and Magic 7: For Blood and Honor is available here for $5.99, and Heroes of Might and Magic IV Complete Edition is available here for $9.99.

In recognition of these games’ availability on GOG.com, Good Old Games is giving customers the chance to become a GOG hero. Good Old Games will award prizes to those brave souls that complete the quests, and one lucky hero will win the grand prize of a Good Old Games-branded sword and shield, as well as $150 in coupon codes for GOG.com. Customers can declare their intent to be a hero by following Good Old Games on Twitter and retweeting this tweet: “Become a GOG Hero, help spread the word about our new Ubisoft releases, and win a free GOG game #gogcom”. Further quests will be posted on GOG.com for the next three weeks.

“Good Old Games has been distributing Ubisoft titles for nearly two years now,” said Guillaume Rambourg, Managing Director of GOG. “Reviving the classics from their catalog continues to be a source of great pleasure for us and for our users, and we’re very happy to be offering more of their acclaimed titles from their extensive and successful back catalog  on GOG. Keep tuned to  www.gog.com for the next few weeks as we roll out more Ubisoft greats, and see if you have what it takes to become a GOG hero!”
