Good Old Games Adds More Classic Atari Games, The Witcher

by Rainier on April 14, 2011 @ 8:33 p.m. PDT

GOG.com has extended its digital distribution agreement with Atari, expanding its catalog with the original Alone in the Dark 1, 2, and 3 (all $5.99), as well as The Witcher  (available soon for $9.99), of course Win7/Vista compatible, and DRM free.

Alone in the Dark, the pioneer series in the survival-horror genre, is now available for only $5.99. What’s even better, buying the game at GOG.com, you receive the second and third part of the series as a free bonus! The trilogy presents the terrifying adventures of the elusive detective Edward Carnby. Check if you have what it takes to survive the most terrifying environments this side of Ryloth and find for yourself how the survival-horror genre was born.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut, the highly acclaimed RPG by CD Projekt RED, will come to GOG’s storefront with tons of exclusive free goodies on May 10th for a regular price of $9.99--but GOG.com is offering a special discount in commemoration of The Witcher 2 coming to GOG. The game will be available at a 50% discount from May 10 until May 24, and will cost only $4.99! The Witcher is an action RPG based on books by popular Polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski. The player takes the role of Geralt of Rivia, the witcher (a professional monster slayer). The game received more than 100 awards including RPG of the Year from GamSpot, IGN, PC Gamer, and GameSpy. In short it’s a must have for all RPG fans.

Speaking of The Witcher franchise, starting from 10th of May all GOG.com users who want to buy the highly anticipated sequel to Geralt’s adventures, will have the opportunity to pre-purchase the game and pre-download almost all of it, so on May 17 when the game is released, they can play it almost instantly! Thanks to the brand new GOG.com downloader the pre-download will go fast and easy.

Pro Tip: The Witcher 2 preorder offer on GOG.com ends on the 16th of May at 23.59 Warsaw time, so anyone who wants to take advantage of the incredible preorder offer should make a point to visit before then and snag their copy of the game.  Also note that if you’ve preordered The Witcher 2 from GOG, you will have until the end of May to purchase the game and receive all of the preorder goodies, so don’t forget!
