'Yoostar2' (ALL) Integrates YouTube Functionality

by Rainier on April 21, 2011 @ 12:33 p.m. PDT

Everyone now has the opportunity to become a global movie star with Yoostar2. In an instant you can step into the shoes of famous characters from hundreds of movies, play out the part and then share your performance with the world.

Yoostar2 allows players to perform in hundreds of famous movie scenes, record their performances, and share them with friends and family online. The Kinect for Xbox 360 sensor and the PlayStation Eye allow Yoostar2 to achieve Hollywood “green screen” style effects without the use of a green screen. In an instant, players can literally step into well-known movie scenes and play the roles of the world’s most famous actors.

In addition to what is already available, from next week until the end of April, Yoostar is releasing an impressive slate of new scenes and themed scene packs via the Yoostores on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network to the community of Yoostar 2 fans.

Once a scene is recorded, players can upload their performances to Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network, share the performances on social networks such as Facebook and Yoostar.com and view them on virtually all devices, including Smart Phones, PC’s and Consoles. Players increase status through community participation, such as sharing, rating and commenting on others’ performances.

Yoostar’s social “movie karaoke” performance video game boosted its worldwide audience today by adding the ability for users to upload their performances directly to YouTube.  Now the world can watch anyone act, ad-lib or stand-in for the greatest actors, in their most memorable roles, on the site that defined video sharing.

Dramatically expanding a social network that already unites Yoostar2 game players on consoles with the free Yoostar Playground game on Facebook.  Through the power of Yoostar’s social video platform, viewers can access tens of thousands of Yoostar videos on the Yoostar Playground and YouTube without a console game.  Now, with YouTube connectivity, emerging actors can share their performances directly with the largest audience of critics and fans ever assembled.

“Integrating YouTube into the Yoostar community provides unparalleled reach for users to share their performances with the world.  By bringing together the three formerly separate worlds of console gaming, social networking and social video sharing we’ve taken a big step toward realizing our vision:  to create the world’s first social video gaming network,” said Stephanie Morgan, Vice President of Social Gaming at Yoostar Entertainment Group.  “Sharing video performances with the world is fun and when there are in-game rewards and benefits, the interplay can be exhilarating. Players confident enough to face the performance-savvy YouTube community will raise their rankings, climb the worldwide leaderboard, and possibly even become a real internet star!”

In addition to the YouTube connection, Yoostar Playground on Facebook is adding several frequently requested features during the next two weeks:

  • Players will be able to post performances on Facebook user walls;
  • A new “boost” power up will amplify earned activity points in different scenarios so players can move up the leaderboard faster;
  • The Store will alert players to fresh downloadable content as soon as it hits the Xbox Live and PlayStation networks;
  • New video tutorials will help players move from beginners to pros on Yoostar 2;
  • A news feed delivered directly to Facebook user pages will alert fans to everything from the latest tips and tricks, to who was seen using Yoostar or is making a meteoric rise in the standings

How it all plugs together:

Yoostar Playground is a free Facebook game and owning the console game is not required.  Players rate, share, comment on, and “mash-up” performances produced by Yoostar 2 console game performers.  In-game activities earn points that help players grow from struggling actors to A-list celebrities.  As players gain “fame,” they are awarded Badges and paid Yoobucks.  Yoobucks can be used for power ups and boosts that accelerate achievements in both Yoostar Playground and Yoostar 2.

Yoostar2 features an innovative user interface driven by Kinect for Xbox 360 gesture-based technology and PlayStation Move motion controllers and created by Blitz Games Studios, one of the world’s leading game developers. Players’ performances are scored, allowing them to rise from “struggling actor” to “superstar”, but the game also encourages improvised performances that draw on players’ creativity. Yoostar2 features multiple gameplay modes, including a “party mode” that allows a group of players to perform in quick succession and a progression mode where players face a series of challenges and unlock new scenes.

Yoostar has secured world-class movie content from leading motion picture studios, including Paramount, Universal, MGM, Lions Gate, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, and CBS. The Yoostar library features hundreds of iconic movie scenes and top Hollywood talent. The game comes with 60 scenes, and players can purchase and download additional scenes from the Yoostar library during or apart from gameplay.
