'Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team' (ALL) Developer Shut Down

by Rainier on July 14, 2011 @ 12:00 a.m. PDT

In this third person arcade style shooter, players take on the role of an elite Space Marine team sent to assault a giant Ork Kroozer en-route to an Imperial Forge World. Do you have what it takes to take out the Warboss and prevent the Waaaagh?

Their game was released yesterday, but Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team development studio Digital Warrington has been shut down by publisher THQ, resulting in over 30 employees to be laid off at the UK-based developer.

Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team is a new arcade shooter from THQ for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. This is the first game on consoles that puts players directly in the boots of an elite Space Marine unit. Sent to explore and assault a gigantic Ork Kroozer headed toward an Imperial Forge World, players are faced with waves of Orks and Tyranid attacks – all fodder for the perfect arcade shooter experience.

As a prequel to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, players will also be rewarded with an exclusive unlockable weapon, a Powersword, that they can ONLY get if they play Kill Team.
