'Explodemon!' (ALL) Coming To PC In August

by Rainier on July 15, 2011 @ 1:50 a.m. PDT

Explodemon! is a 2.5D platform action game influenced by classic Japanese games from the golden era of the SNES.

If you ignore PSN news as easily as I ignore cholesterol warnings, you’ll be forgiven for not knowing too much about the game (but just this once). So, here’s the ‘sitch’: Explodemon! is an action-packed puzzle-platformer with a healthy dose of intense combat, geared towards people who love finding well-hidden secrets and shaving seconds off their speedruns.

Explodemon! is based around Explodemon, an exploding hero that uses his explosive ability to combat enemies, propel himself through the air, destroy anything in his path and solve puzzles using the game’s solid physics system. Explodemon! is packaged up as a loving parody of badly translated action games and everything that they embody.

The game follows the antics of the titular Explodemon, an unstable Guardian of the planet Nibia, who finds himself with the fate of the galaxy in his stupid fumbly hands when the malicious Vortex forces mount an all-out attack. His comic quest to repel the onslaught and restore peace will take him across three distinct planets over twelve levels, with new abilities and gameplay mechanics introduced throughout.

Explodemon! will be launching through various distribution portals – including GamersGate, GetGames and Direct2Drive, as well as directly from Curve Studios’ website – starting from August.
