by Rainier on Dec. 3, 2012 @ 5:39 p.m. PST

Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, based on the the browser-based game, is a blend of vivid visuals and gun-blazing, 2D platform action and expands the Rocketbirds universe with new characters, missions, puzzles, exclusive music videos, retro cut scenes and more.

Rocketbirds builds upon the browser-based game Rocketbirds: Revolution! Updated for the PS3 version with new characters, missions, puzzles, exclusive music videos and more, the game is now being amped up once again for the upcoming PS Vita version!  The original "Coq of War" sets out on a mission to assassinate the tyrannical penguin leader therefore taking down the evil regime that has taken over Albatropolis. This over the top adventure is non-stop action as players are challenged with unlocking secrets, destroying enemies and so much more!

Rocketbirds on the PS Vita will boast a variety of unique new features including new chapters, puzzles and humor!  Based on player feedback, the new version will feature a creative new Hardboiled difficulty setting, improvements to the controls to utilize the PS Vita's unique features and improved connectivity for the Cooperation Campaign.

"Rocketbirds has come a long way from its three IGF finalist nominations back in 2010. Since then, we listened to player feedback as we jumped at the opportunity to iterate on the game once more with the PS Vita version," said Sian Yue Tan, Producer at Ratloop Asia.  "We're really looking forward to revealing more details about what fans can expect when Rocketbirds for the PS Vita launches next year."

The game will support the PS Vita's front touch screen and rear touch panel, and players will enjoy full resolution without the 'jaggies.' Like any proper Cinematic Platform adventure game, Rocketbirds does away with scrolling to give players big detailed screens, and this has been cranked up a notch for the PS Vita, the tilting is wired to the built-in motion sensors making counter tilting at-will look great!

Additionally, to better fit with the portable nature of the game, the improved connectivity for the game's Cooperative Campaign will let player's easily connect with a friend Online or Ad-Hoc mode for cooperative play.  Two new playable coop characters -- Sniper Guy and Agent-H - have also been added exclusively to the PS Vita!
