'All Zombies Must Die! Scorepocalypse' Announced, Coming Soon

by Rainier on April 10, 2012 @ 4:31 a.m. PDT

In this frantic twin-stick shooter, players return to the town of Deadhill, where McJagger’s official job is to flush the streets of the undead and recue any lingering civilians.

Forget everything you know about the zombie apocalypse; in the standalone spin-off to All Zombies Must Die!, the only thing that really matters is your score. In AZMD! Scorepocalypse, players step into the sturdy boots of McJagger, a stoic soldier whose chief concern is to put as many points on the board as humanly possible (and perhaps save a few lives in the process). To that end, your mission remains: all zombies must die!

In executing this task, our fearless hero will return to locations such as the Town Square, Shopping Mall and Surburbia, as well as checking out the Military Base and Graveyard for the first time.

The zombies have stepped things up a gear since we last saw them, of course. McJagger will have to take on three new flavours of the undead: Soldier, Necro and Ghost. If you’re going to get to the top of the global leaderboards with these blighters about, you’re going to need to up the ante somewhat. Thankfully AZMD! Scorepocalypse introduces two new weapons to help you in your endeavours: the Mini-gun and Rocket Launcher. Suffice to say, they both pack a punch.

Your score is based on a combination of two multipliers, one of which increases as you complete quests that appear organically as you play, and the other based on how many environmental modifiers you’ve managed to apply to the undead. Use fire, shock, sonic and radiation – and the environments themselves - to your full advantage, and get the highest score possible!

AZMD! Scorepocalypse arrives on Steam April 16, with 20% off for the first week.
