'Embers of Caerus' Kickstarter Campaign Successful

Embers of Caerus is a next-gen sandbox medieval fantasy MMORPG featuring a rich, player-controlled story, a massive, realistic game-world, and a host of innovative features.

Embers of Caerus promises to be the game that sandbox fans have been waiting for!

Embers of Caerus will include a whole host of features that will set it apart from the rest of the pack. Level-less, classless character advancement? You got it. Massive, seamless, persistent world? You got that too. Full loot, full PvP and full-on PvE? In the bag. Extensive crafting systems and a player-controlled economy? No problem. Combat based on your skill as a player rather than tied to some in-game abstraction? Look no further.

But it doesn’t stop there. Ever wanted to create your own religion? Ever felt like forging your own kingdom, setting the laws of the land and commanding your minions to enforce your every whim? Ever wanted to take part in a realistic siege, or become the terror of the ocean waves with your fleet of warships? Embers of Caerus will bring you all that, and more!

With enthusiastic fans pledging as much as $10,000 each to fund the game, Embers of Caerus is on target to be the latest addition to the hugely popular MMO (massively multiplayer online) genre. Through the use of leading technologies like Havok Vision Engine, Forsaken Studios have their sights firmly set on taking the games industry by storm.

After recently entering into an agreement with Havok, Forsaken Studios is able to take advantage of Havok’s Strike Program designed for smaller budget titles and utilize Havok’s Vision Engine to power their IDP for Embers of Caerus.

“Without the use of Havok’s Vision Engine and associated tools and technologies, Embers of Caerus would not be half the game it is shaping up to be," says Dave Belcher Technical Director at Forsaken Studios. “Havok gives us the power and flexibility we need to push the boundaries of what is possible in an MMORPG, and to express our creativity in ever more spectacular ways." Boasting one of the largest game worlds in MMO history, Embers of Caerus promises to set itself apart from the crowd with a host of innovative features. Among these are a rich, player-controlled story, a dynamic ecology, and a team of dedicated gaming experts who will maintain the game’s narrative around the clock.

Forsaken Studios are developing a prototype of their game to show to potential investors and turned to Kickstarter to fund its completion. In the first 48 hours alone, the prototype received over 80% of its funding in pledges from its dedicated supporters!

“We’re blown away by the response we’ve had,” says Forsaken Studios’ Creative Director Rob Steele. “It just shows that the audience is out there, hungry for the kind of game that we’re making – one where the players take control of the world and make it their own. And with the money pledged to us via Kickstarter, we can win the support of the major backers in the industry, and help put Embers of Caerus firmly on the MMO map!”

Forsaken Studios had an initial goal to raise $25,000 through Kickstarter to cover software licenses and development costs for their prototype, which they reached in less than six days after launching their campaign. In return for the support of their fans, Forsaken Studios are offering a veritable dragon’s hoard of rewards. Now they have reached their initial target, they are working on their stretch targets, and are starting to add a fresh set of bonus rewards to sweeten the pot.
