'Dance Central 2' (X360) Unveils August Release Schedule

by Rainier on Aug. 6, 2012 @ 11:32 a.m. PDT

Dance Central 2 expands the Dance Central universe with new venues, characters and game modes. Players will meet new dance crews and be able to team up with their friends or challenge them to a head-to-head Dance Battle, proving once and for all who really has the best moves!

Harmonix expands the “Dance Central” universe with new simultaneous multiplayer and all-new routines set to an unstoppable soundtrack featuring Usher, Rihanna, La Roux, Nicki Minaj, Montell Jordan and more. Meet new dance crews and get down with friends to prove once and for all who really has the best moves!

It’s Party Time! “Dance Central 2” keeps the wildly addictive “Dance Central” experience going with a new focus on simultaneous multiplayer. Friends can team up in Perform It or go head-to-head in a simultaneous dance off within Dance Battle. Players can drop in or out at any point during a song, so the party never has to stop!

Pump Up the Volume. Continuing the tradition Harmonix pioneered with its “Rock Band” series, the library from the original “Dance Central” disc will be importable into “Dance Central 2” for a nominal fee.  “Dance Central 2”’s fully integrated in-game Music Store will allow players to expand their “Dance Central” libraries, with more than 40 additional tracks available at launch.* All told, more than 100 songs will be available to play in “Dance Central 2” at launch!

As Real As It Gets. “Dance Central 2” provides detailed per-limb feedback for each player, allowing them to refine their moves. A reimagining of “Dance Central”’s “Break-It-Down” mode lets dancers dive even deeper into move combinations and, for the first time, enables voice commands within the practice process! Harmonix continues to combine time-tested technical savvy and design polish with the fun and authenticity of the dance world to create an unparalleled dance experience.

Kick it with the Crews! “Dance Central 2” features a variety of new characters and fan favorites paired up as dance crews, each with custom outfits, backup dancers and signature venues.Emilia, the sporty fan favorite from “Dance Central,” teams up with new character Bodie to form “RipTide,” while “Dance Central”’s stand-out b-boy Mo joins newcomer Glitch to make up “Hi-Def.” Additionally, these crews call a brand new beachside city home, featuring all new venues, including a luxury yacht and a beachfront bash.

Jeremih’s “Down On Me” kicks off the party on August 7th! The track, which features rapper 50 Cent, appeared on Jeremih’s 2010 studio album All About You, was a hit in clubs around the world, and is certified 2x Platinum in the United States!

On August 14th, Nature by Nature’s classic hip-hop anthem, “O.P.P.,” comes to the Music Store. Off of Naughty by Nature’s self-titled debut, the track was ubiquitous in the ‘90s, popularizing the phrase “Down Wit’ O.P.P.,” and burned up the Billboard charts!

Producer/songwriter Kevin Rudolf’s debut single, “Let It Rock,” comes to the Music Store on August 21st. Rapper Lil’ Wayne guests on the track, which features rock n’ roll guitar riffs and a banging, hip-hop beat.

“Promiscuous,” collaboration between Nelly Furtado and producer Timbaland from Furtado’s 2006 album, Loose, drops on August 28th. The track earned the duo at least two major awards  -- Billboard Music Awards’ “Best Pop Single of the Year” in 2006, and “Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals” at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards!

All tracks will be available in the Dance Central 2 in-game Music Store, or from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 240 MS Points each.
