'Wayfarers' Announced

by Rainier on Sept. 19, 2012 @ 8:55 a.m. PDT

Wayfarers pits players against one another in a massively multiplayer online world that will feature a mixture of one-on-one battles and tower-defense strategy games.

Players will create customized Wayfarer characters, choosing every aspect of these online avatars from the way they look to the way they fight to the powers that they wield.

“This is going to be a very action-oriented game,” said OBJE CEO Paul Watson. “The player’s objective is not to roam the countryside solving problems and harvesting gold. This is a competitive game where players advance by dominating other Wayfarers in online combat.”

“Wayfarers” is being constructed using the award-winning HeroEngine framework, the 3D MMORPG platform most famously used by BioWare Austin to create “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” By licensing HeroEngine, Novalon Games has significantly reduced its launch timeline.

Currently, the developer is focusing on the testing and finalization of the new title’s core game mechanics and unique rewards system to keep players coming back for more. Partners OBJ Enterprises and Source Street look forward to unveiling a demo version of “Wayfarers” ready to play before year’s end.
