Red Storm Entertainment Founder Tom Clancy Dies

Best-selling author Tom Clancy, known for political thrillers such as The Hunt For Red October and Patriot Games, has passed away in a Baltimore hospital yesterday at the age of 66.

Tom Clancy founded Red Storm Entertainment in the late 90s', sold to Ubisoft in 2000, where he created the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series, while the Splinter Cell, EndWar, H.A.W.X franchises all carry his name. Ubisoft plans to release Tom Clancy's The Division in 2014.

On Dec. 3 Tom Clancy's latest novel Command Authority will be available in book stores, while on Dec. 25 Di Bonaventura Pictures will release the Jack Ryan: Shadow One movie in theatres starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner.

Ubisoft issued the following statement:
