Living up to the mantra “bigger, better and more badass,” Borderlands 2 features all-new characters; skills; imaginative, diverse new environments with unique missions and enemies; and more exciting and fun weapons, equipment and loot than ever before. All of these features come together in a story that takes players to the world of Pandora to take down the notorious Handsome Jack and his corrupt Hyperion Corporation as a solo campaign or with up to four cooperative players.
Borderlands 2 will allow friends to play together locally via split-screen, as well as online with drop-in-drop-out capabilities. With seamless cooperative gameplay and action, Borderlands 2 is extremely accessible for gamers and their friends to play alone or together in a variety of configurations.

“More than a year after the launch of Borderlands 2, hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide continue to shoot-and-loot on Pandora. We wanted to find a creative and exciting way to thank them, and the millions of Borderlands fans that make this franchise what it is,” said Sarah Anderson, senior vice president of marketing at 2K. “We’re giving away $100,000 in cash and a slew of other great prizes throughout a massive in-game fan appreciation event that’s also accessible to new players who purchase the Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition.”
Money isn’t all that’s at stake. Thanks to the generosity of PlayStation®, Nvidia, Turtle Beach and BradyGames, Borderlands 2 loot hunters will have the chance to win outstanding real-life prizes, including:

“Claptrap serves as the master of ceremonies for this grand Loot Hunt, but each week a new friendly face from Borderlands 2 will dish out daily targets that loot hunters can take down to enter themselves into the sweepstakes,” said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software. “As a diehard vault hunter, I am most excited for the bounty associated with each target – unique pieces of in-game loot that will drop one hundred percent of the time.”
Ambitious loot hunters can enter the sweepstakes simply by taking down the daily targets once a day for a total of 28 entries. In addition to the many weekly sponsored prizes, one lucky loot hunter will win a grand prize of $50,000, and four others will win varying amounts of cash totaling another $50,000. Only U.S. players are eligible for cash prizes and sponsored prizes. However, all players worldwide can participate in the Loot Hunt, and the exclusive community goals granting access to unique in-game loot. Alternatively, U.S. residents may enter the sweepstakes by mailing a postcard to 2K, Borderlands 2 Loot Hunt Sweepstakes, 10 Hamilton Landing, Novato, CA 94949.
The Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt ends at 5:00 a.m. EST on November 7, 2013. Joining the hunt is simple, go to Borderlands2 Loot Hunt website, and log-in using your SHiFT account information.
