For more than four decades, the U.S.S. Enterprise has been a majestic icon of adventure and excitement. On board, her crew explores strange new worlds, seeks out new civilizations …
But what fans have known of the iconic starship has largely been limited to what is seen in movies and on television.
That will change when Star Trek The Video Game gives players a deeper and much more interactive look inside the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Paramount Pictures and Namco Bandai announce a pre-order and day-one purchase opportunity with all UK GAME stores, allowing any purchaser of Star Trek The Video Game on any format an exclusive complimentary ticket to the Star Trek Into Darkness movie (coming May 2013).
Working with Hollywood Movie Money, upon pre-order or day-one purchase the customer will receive a unique code where they can redeem it instantly online via a special microsite. The redemption will award a full adult ticket to any Cineworld cinema in the country. Any additional seating or upgrade will have to be purchased at the cinema chain. The promotion will be available whilst ticket allocation and box office remains. Pre-orders are a focused push for this activity and guaranteed to secure your free ticket.
Namco Bandai Partners UK and Game will also select a special winner from all the purchasers and offer a VIP, red-carpet treatment to a future Paramount Pictures UK Premiere including 5 star accommodation.
“Since the exciting announcement of Star Trek The Video Game we have been teasing fans with little nuggets of what they’re likely to experience in this unique story.”, commented Lee Kirton, Namco Bandai UK’s PR & Marketing Director. Kirton continued, “We wanted to offer something truly special and valuable to fans so working with GAME stores group has allowed us to award the consumer with a pass to the hottest movie this year following their unique video game experience.”
Playing as Kirk and Spock, gamers must face-off against the villainous Gorn – the formidable enemy first introduced in the classic 1967 Star Trek television episode “Arena.” Their battles will take them into familiar locations, like the bridge, transporter room and the engine room – but also deep into many areas of the ship that have never been seen on film before, including the Enterprise’s turbolift shafts, observation lounge, engineering decks and officer’s quarters.
The producers and development team of Star Trek The Video Game worked closely with the entire creative team responsible for the re-imagined 2009 blockbuster Star Trek film to ensure what players see will look and feel remarkably authentic.
