'The Note' Mixes Platforming With Art and Poetry - Screens

by Rainier on April 2, 2013 @ 9:13 a.m. PDT

The Note is an artistic 3d platformer with a strong focus on player emotions, in a form of an 'art'.

The avatar is 'you', who runs through unknown, until faces death. That’s the main design.

It is probably safe to say that ‘The Note’, focuses on the experience of being more than on seeing. We offer the player an opportunity to play their part in a narrative.

We want to make an experiment with realtime poetry, with storytelling without words.

In ‘The Note’, you don't know anything about your character. You don't know, what to do, where to go and even, which buttons to use. This is the biggest part of the experience, the interaction. We want to see this game as an artistic experience.

This is a sidescroller, platformer. Our avatar runs and faces images, texts and hears words about a poem, and lives it. The poem is Rabindranath Tagore's "Peace, My Heart". The whole game lasts ~8 minutes. So we are considering this as a poem, and an art form.
