'Medusa's Labyrinth' Announced - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 17, 2014 @ 1:01 a.m. PDT

Medusa's Labyrinth is a first person horror game with Oculus rift set in ancient Greece, combining the horror of Amnesia with the sneaking and archery of Thief.

The player will have to carefully pick their path through the dark hallways on Temple Island, through catacombs and amphitheaters to solve the mysteries that lurk within the labyrinthine garden at the peak: Hesperide.

Developer Guru Games will launch a kickstarter campaign for Medusa’s Labyrinth on October 21, 2014.

Key Features:

  • The Oculus Rift is something that has not yet become a thing on the market, and Medusa’s Labyrinth is exactly the type of game that you would want to use it for. The Oculus will be much more than just a camera, you will have unique features based on the technology, were you lay your eyes will affect the game.
  • A unique blend of setting and mechanics. Getting chased through the labyrinth by a Minotaur is scary enough, but the game is filled with architecture, art and mythos from ancient Greece, and the story takes its inspiration from tragedies of that time.
  • A manifested inventory. Horror is all about immersion, and in Medusa’s Labyrinth there is no HUD, no health bars and no inventory screen to distract you from the frightening experience. Want to know how many arrows you have left? Look at your quiver, there will be no ammo counter to keep track for you.
