'ArcheAge' Exceeds Two Million Players

by Rainier on Oct. 3, 2014 @ 8:24 a.m. PDT

ArcheAge introduces players to a fantasy sandbox world where they begin their journey on one of two continents: Nuia and Harihara. From there, everything else is up to the player, from what character they play, to where they go, and why.

Having gone through more than six years of development and nearly two years of closed testing, ArcheAge introduces players to a fantasy sandbox world where they begin their journey on one of two continents: Nuia and Harihara. From there, everything else is up to the player, from what character they play, to where they go, and why. The game promises to remove the restrictions that have hindered other MMORPGs, especially concerning character classes and skills.

Discover the world of ArcheAge where freedom rules in a visually stunning world you won’t forget. Forge your own path by building unique homes and castles or farms that support the economy while banding together to fight and defend your fortune in epic PvP battles.

Trion Worlds CEO Scott Hartsman just announced that over 2 million people are now playing ArcheAge, the recently launched free to play MMO lead by Jake Song, creator of Lineage II. In his letter, Hartsman also describes how, in the past few days, the team at Trion drastically improved the overall player experience in ArcheAge. Among other things, Trion Worlds has undertaken a huge bot sweep, eliminating false accounts throughout the game, worked on better spam filtering and have dramatically shortened queue times in both the US and Europe by introducing new servers and taking measures to deal with AFK players more efficiently.

Scott Hartsman shares the news as well as preview of upcoming ArcheAge content additions here.
