'Rogue Wizards' Kickstarter Successful, Unlocks Stretch Goals, Easter Egg Content

by Rainier on Nov. 10, 2014 @ 2:33 p.m. PST

Rogue Wizards is a rogue-like, dungeon-crawling, town-building RPG.

Rogue Wizards invites players to battle creatures, collect loot, master magic, and build a Wizard Tower in a rogue-like, dungeon-crawling, town-building RPG. At the heart of Rogue Wizards’ unique approach to these game genres, lies its dungeon mode. Featuring procedurally generated environments and loot, no two dungeons or weapons will be the same, offering players an incredible amount of re-playability and character progression as they uncover the mystery behind a series of portals appearing in the world. Although combat features a traditional turn-based combat system, fans of the genre will notice a remarkable increase in terms of pacing; battles feel fast and furious while still requiring strategy and planning.

In between rounds of exploring dungeons, slaying creatures, and discovering new loot, players can also look forward to a complex and rewarding Town Building experience at the Wizard Tower. Here, players can enhance and customize the way they play by building a thriving town, brewing their own reagents, crafting and buying their own gear, powering up their magic, and recruiting help in order to further strengthen their Wizard for diving into deeper and more difficult dungeons.

Rogue Wizards has reached its $70,000 goal on Kickstarter and is pushing forward in its final hours with newly revealed stretch goals.

In celebration of meeting this major milestone, Spellbind Studios has also announced plans to collaborate with other indie developers on crossover Easter egg content from their games: Rogue Legacy (Cellar Door Games), Chasm (Discord Games), and Star Command (Warballoon) to appear in Rogue Wizards. Rogue Wizards will end its Kickstarter campaign on Tuesday, November 11 @ 11:59pm PDT.

“On behalf of Spellbind Studios and everyone on the Rogue Wizards team, I’d like to thank everyone who supported our title on Kickstarter, took the time to vote for it on Steam Greenlight, and helped spread the word to friends,” said Spellbind Studios Founder Colin Day. “But we’re not stopping there as we’re hoping that we can reach our stretch goals to create an even better experience for our awesome supporters.”

Spellbind Studios is excited to announce a series of new stretch goals to be reached during the final hours on Kickstarter:

  • $75,000 - A deeper loot system with more enchantments, items, socket-ables, synergies, gambling, and more
  • $80,000 - Advanced crafting with item enchanting, transmutation, fusion, and more
  • $85,000 - Advanced tower mode, more structures, discoverable goodies and baddies around the tower areas
  • $90,000 - Enemies, spells, and items altered by randomized environment effects, new difficulties, extra perma-death modes
  • $95,000 - Additional background environment with full set of props, 6 additional monsters, a new set of items, new background music track

“I also want to send our thanks and appreciation to the good folks at Cellar Door Games, Discord Games, and Warballoon. Their support speaks to the great amount of unity in the growing independent games development community,” continues Day. “While we’re still working on the exact details, fans of Rogue Legacy, Chasm, and Star Command can also expect to see characters from these titles making cameo appearances hidden in Rogue Wizards.”

In development for over a year, Rogue Wizards is recruiting fans looking for a new world building RPG meets dungeon delving experience to help support its ongoing development via Kickstarter, looking for $70,000, that ends on November 11.
