'Juju' (ALL) Also Coming To XBLA, Gets Dated - Screens

by Rainier on Nov. 19, 2014 @ 1:18 p.m. PST

Juju is a classic-style platformer with cooperative play, fun boss battles, and endearing characters.

Journey with the shaman panda, Juju, and his lizard sidekick, Peyo, as they embark upon a dangerous and mystical journey to save Juju's father and the world from an ancient evil. Run, bounce, chant, and battle humongous bosses with a friend or family member in this beautifully animated, lighthearted adventure.

The vibrant world of Juju will leave every face smiling as players venture through brilliantly animated landscapes and come face-to-face with dangerous foes. Journey alone or grab a friend for two-player cooperative play and take on gigantic bosses, uncover hidden levels, and save the world.

Juju’s father, Jambee, heads out to perform his daily rituals, unaware that Juju and Peyo have followed. While the elder is momentarily distracted from his work, the curious duo steps in, accidentally releasing a terrible and ancient spirit. Jambee bravely dives into battle with the creature, but he is not victorious and barely manages to pass a magical mask to his son before being captured. Now, it's up to Juju and Peyo to gather the mystic keys and magic embers needed to seal away the spirit and save the day.

"As gamers and parents, we created JUJU because we know how frustrating it is when a game is either too easy or too hard for one player," said Creative Director Klaudiusz Zych. "We knew there had to be a way for two people to have fun together and both be challenged, regardless of skill-level."

JUJU is rethinking cooperative gameplay for two people of unequal skill, such as parents and kids, with features including drop-in/out multiplayer, competition-free gameplay, and the optional second character; Peyo. Armed with an extra tongue attack and reduced chance to be targeted by bosses, Peyo has been created specifically for new players to get their feet wet in gaming.

Key Features:

  • Jump, Dash, and Chant through four, brilliantly imaginative worlds and over 30 levels of platforming gameplay.
  • Cooperative Multiplayer designed to be fun for adults while offering the right amount of challenge for children so that both can play together.
  • Peyo to the Rescue with drop-in multiplayer, allowing a second person to jump in or out anytime. Peyo has an additional tongue-attack and isn't targeted by bosses; perfect for beginning players.
  • 9 Giant Boss-Battles that require ingenuity and cunning to defeat; not violent combat. With every victory, Juju grows stronger, unlocking new levels and gaining powers to use in the journey ahead.
  • Secret Areas hidden throughout the worlds offer rewards to those with the curiosity to explore, and the skill to overcome the obstacles inside.
  • Time Challenges await the best players. Do you have the skill to beat the best times and win the Golden Cup?

JUJU will be available as a digital download on PSN, Steam, and Xbox Live.
