'Warhammer 40,000: Regicide' Gives Voice To Its Space Marines

by Rainier on Dec. 9, 2014 @ 2:46 a.m. PST

Set in the classic Warhammer 40,000 universe from Games Workshop, Regicide weaves rich lore with strategic gameplay in a series of action-packed battles for dystopian glory.

Warhammer 40k: Regicide is a new take on one of the most established strategy games of all time, evoking the grim setting of the iconic Warhammer 40,000 universe and hearkening to the roots of traditional gaming. Regicide fuses brutal action with turn-based tactical combat in the war-torn dark future of Warhammer 40,000.

Warhammer 40k: Regicide showcases a tactical, single-player Blood Angels campaign. It also features a cross-platform multiplayer experience. Go to war anytime, anywhere against opponents worldwide as traditional gaming meets highly detailed production.

We were honored to work with some enormous talents, and we’ve spent the last several weeks putting them to the test with voices that are somewhat beyond the standard human range!

Brian Dobson is known for his voice acting in animated TV shows and video games. He has previously voiced Space Marines and Orks for the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II series; or in his own words, “Pretty much the entire game.” You’ll hear him as the Space Marine Librarian and some additional greenskin roles which we will reveal soon.

Peter Beckman is known for voicing several characters in the Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, and Hellsing universes. A screen and voice actor with a deep, resounding tone to his voice, Peter’s natural talent made him perfect for bringing to life both Space Marine and Ork characters. In Regicide, Peter is responsible for voicing some mighty characters indeed - not least of which is the Space Marine Terminator.

Regicide reinvents strategy and turn-based tactical warfare with an exciting new take on the battlefield:

  • Power up pieces, unleash psychic powers, and crush your foes through multiple phases of combat.
  • Match wits against the highly advanced Codex AI engine, or battle others PvP and score a checkmate at the end of a bloodied chainsword.

Annihilate your enemies in two distinct battle modes:

  • Regicide: Plan the attack and command your soldiers through two phases of combat. Open fire on your enemies, utilise tactical abilities and unleash psychic powers to crush your foes. Fight your way through violent single and multiplayer gameplay and destroy everything that stands between you and certain victory.
  • Classic: Sharpen your tactics in both single and multiplayer games based on traditional chess rules, executing brutally violent kills in diverse battlefield terrains. Select your race and battle it out online against opponents from all over the world or lead your army through the Space Marine Blood Angels campaign, unlocking new challenges, powers and elite units.

This is only the beginning. The universe spans untold galaxies to conquer.

This is not just war. This is Regicide.
