Watch The NFL Draft On Xbox One, Live Or With Snappable Draft Tracker

by Rainier on May 6, 2014 @ 2:22 p.m. PDT

Xbox One is Microsoft's all-in-one gaming and entertainment system that puts you at the center of all your games, TV, movies, music, sports and Skype.

The NFL Draft is when football fans officially get excited about the upcoming season, and now you get to experience all that... without setting down our Xbox controllers.

Starting today, Xbox Gold members will be able to experience the 2014 NFL Draft with an all-new draft channel and all-new draft-related content. On Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10, all Xbox Live Gold Members can get up close with the NFL Draft, by streaming the event live through the NFL app on Xbox One.

The snappable Draft Tracker is what makes the experience really cool and unique. Whether you're watching the draft live, watching a movie with the family on Netflix, or sneaking in a few quarters of “Madden 25,” the Draft Tracker will keep you updated on each team's pick. The app works like you'd expect: The teams are listed in their draft order, with details on what kinds of players they still need. When they make a pick, the app updates instantly and shows who got drafted, allows you to access highlights from that player and what team is on the clock.

“Our NFL experience currently features a large volume of NFL Draft videos and analysis, with new video content arriving daily,” said David Jurenka, executive producer of Sports at Xbox.

In anticipation of the draft, fans can jump into the NFL app right now to check out the top prospects and watch highlight videos and expert analysis for every team. Check out Sammy Watkins' amazing mid-air catches to see why he might be the hot new wide receiver or find out what the combine scores might mean for Mizzou superstar Michael Sam.

“The control we give to fans is what makes our system unique,” David said.  “If your team drafts Johnny Manziel and you want to see some clips of him, you can just jump in and do that. We’re taking what has traditionally been a passive TV experience and making it interactive and personalized.”

The NFL Draft is three days of in-depth coverage. Miss a day? Not a problem. You can watch highlights and get recap about who drafted who from the previous draft days, while you're watching the current picks live. The NFL experience and the unique Draft Tracker pretty much turn whatever game you're playing (or show you're watching) into an up-to-the-minute Draft command center. The Draft Tracker works like any other snappable app, so you can do whatever you want – even Skype with your friends while your team is on the clock.

And when the 2014 NFL Draft is over, your NFL app is still a great resource not just for the regular season, but for the weeks leading up to it. According to David, the app will continue to be updated with more preseason content. “When the NFL starts rolling over to preseason activities this summer, our app will roll over, too – so it will always have the most relevant news and videos.”

To experience all of what Xbox One has to offer for the 2014 NFL Draft, make sure you've got the NFL app downloaded on Xbox One. It's available now, and chock-full of amazing features that go well beyond the 2014 NFL Draft.
