'Persona 4: Arena Ultimax' (ALL) Launch DLC Free For Limited Time - Screens

by Rainier on July 1, 2014 @ 6:23 p.m. PDT

Persona 4: Arena Ultimax improves on the fighting game formula with battle-altering one-hit special attacks and new characters, including Yukari Takeba and Junpei Iori from Persona 3 and a new character, Sho Minazuki.

A few days after the P-1 Grand Prix concludes in the first Arena title, the city of Inaba gets enveloped in a thick red fog and Mitsuru, Akihiko, Fuuka, and Aigis are shown as prisoners on the Midnight Channel. The Investigation Team from Persona 4 and former SEES from Persona 3 must once again fight to their limits in the new P-1 Climax tournament to rescue them and finally uncover the true culprit behind the deadly tournaments.

Not a lot is known about Sho other than his goofy nature and being an unstoppable force in both puns and combat. Two swords, two scars on his face, red hair and red mist in Inaba? Surely it can't be coincidence that he's standing in the way of the Investigation Team. And to make matters worse, it seems he can control a Persona...

Tohru Adachi and his Persona Magatsu-Izanagi will be joining the version of Person 4 Arena Ultimax as DLC for the Americas. Not only that, but he will be free to download for the first week after launch on both consoles. After the first week, Adachi will revert to paid DLC.

ATLUS will attending EVO 2014 with P4AU for hands-on demos at the biggest Fighting Game Community event of the year.

ATLUS is also chipping in $1,000 (and some other ATLUS goodies) as a total prize purse for an original Persona 4 Arena side tournament at EVO. Registration is being handled by Dustloop, and will be held on-site up until 1 hour before the pool play begins. More information as it comes will be posted on the official thread here

P4AU will retail for $59.99.
