Subject 13 is an adventurous game where players interact with environment to solve puzzles and escape from a mysterious prison seeks like-minded players for beneficial relationship.

In Subject 13, players will take on the role of Franklin Fargo, a reclusive physics professor. Fargo leads a solitary and bitter existence following the death of his fiancée, Sophie, during a robbery that should have targeted him. One morning, he wakes up in an abandoned underground scientific facility with no external contact other than a mysterious voice. The voice calls him "Subject 13."

As Franklin Fargo, players will interact with the 3D environment around them by collecting, using, and manipulating objects to overcome a multitude of devious barriers to the professor’s escape. Fargo’s goal is to not only set himself free but discover the true reasons for his imprisonment—can he escape from the prison of his past?

Microïds and noted game designer Paul Cuisset launched a 30-day Subject 13 Kickstarter page for their recently announced adventure game project, Subject 13. The creator of acclaimed games that helped advance the adventure genre is looking for gamers to help bring his new 3D adventure game to life.

Subject 13 arose from a concept and programming experiment to become a passion I cannot put down,” said Paul Cuisset. “We realized we needed assistance from players to realize the game’s potential and we are asking for Kickstarter supporters to help us create an expression of pure adventure gaming. The early feedback has been very positive and we want to take it to the next stage—adding advanced graphics and an emotional score while bringing in gamers to share their feedback on how we can make the game its very best.”

By pairing the man behind legendary titles such as Flashback, Future Wars: Time Travelers, and Moto Racer with adventure game fans, this Kickstarter campaign will make it possible to elevate the gaming experience of Subject 13. Fan support will allow Cuisset and his team to expand the adventure, optimize visual and sound creation, and turn backers into a legion of gaming experts whose reactions will help polish the gameplay and fine-tune the intriguing storyline.

As a reward for support, backers will receive collectible items related to the Subject 13 universe (for example, signed artwork and scientist coats) and can also get unique customizations such as being entirely modelled as the hero of the game. The next generation of talented developers will be able to win a private class with Paul Cuisset. Of course, some of these options will be limited. First come, first served!

Subject 13 is currently being developed in collaboration with Microïds for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. Console and Oculus Rift versions are also possible depending on the success of the Kickstarter campaign.
