'Rock Band 4' (ALL) To Get Van Halen Track Pack - Trailer

by Rainier on Nov. 23, 2015 @ 3:05 p.m. PST

Rock Band 4 is the latest installment in the music/rhythm franchise, not only bringing over 2000+ songs from past iterations, but all new tracks, features & modes.

Harmonix is teaming up with Mad Catz to bring Rock Band 4 to PS4 and Xbox One, and brings the franchise to a new generation of consoles, focusing on the features and gameplay that people love, and expanding the franchise in innovative ways that were informed by how fans play and what they want.

In addition to a killer on-disc soundtrack, Rock Band 4 will support over 2000 tracks released since the 2007 launch of the original Rock Band, accounting for more than 500 of rock music’s most legendary artists.

Players who’ve purchased or downloaded playable tracks on last-generation consoles will be able to download and play those tracks on their new platforms at no additional charge. Hundreds of tracks will be available at launch, with more back catalog music – and new tracks – to be added regularly after launch.

With more than 80 million records sold, Van Halen has earned its place as one of the most popular rock and roll bands around the world. With the unmatched showmanship of vocalist David Lee Roth, the mind-blowing technical expertise of guitarist Eddie Van Halen, and the thundering drums of Alex Van Halen, the group’s music is the perfect fit for Rock Band’s four-player, full-band gameplay.

Van Halen just finished a blockbuster North American tour, concluding with a heralded two night stand at the Hollywood Bowl. Earlier this year, the band released newly remastered versions of their first six studio albums as well as Tokyo Dome Live In Concert, their first live album with Roth.

The “Van Halen Hits Pack 01” includes highlights from early in the band’s career, from “Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love” from the group’s 1978 self-titled debut to 1984’s memorable single, “Hot For Teacher.” This essential pack is rounded out by four other heavy hitters, including “And The Cradle Will Rock…,” “Dance The Night Away,” “Runnin' With The Devil,” and “Unchained.”

The full “Van Halen Hits Pack 01” can be purchased for $9.99, with singles available for download for $1.99 a track.

To celebrate this incredible pack of songs, Harmonix will be running a sweepstakes for fans from 11/23 – 11/29. The grand prize package includes: an Xbox One console, a Rock Band 4 Band-in-a-Box bundle for Xbox One, Van Halen Hits Pack 01 DLC for Rock Band 4, a set of 6 2015 CD remasters of Van Halen David Lee Roth-era albums, the Tokyo Dome Live in Concert CD, and a Tokyo Dome Live in Concert poster. For the Official Rules for the sweepstakes, see HERE.
