'King's Quest: Rubble Without a Cause' (ALL) Gets Release Date - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 1, 2015 @ 8:00 p.m. PST

King's Quest re-imagines the core characters and familiar storylines of King Graham's early journeys, setting up new chapters tied to – but independent of – the original games.

King’s Quest marks a return of a franchise that helped define the adventure genre when it first came to life 30 years ago.

Huge fans of the original King’s Quest series, The Odd Gentlemen are crafting a charming new adventure with an awe-inspiring art style, engaging puzzles, and a wondrous interactive narrative brimming with humor.

In the new story, King Graham – revered as the greatest adventurer to ever live – shares his life’s adventures with his curious granddaughter, Gwendolyn. It is through these tales that Gwendolyn discovers the true greatness of her grandfather.

This allows the team at The Odd Gentlemen to skim across different timelines, exploring a narrative in the past and “present” simultaneously. And like its predecessors, King’s Quest remains a story-driven experience, in which players interact with the world around them, solve puzzles, and live out Graham’s adventures in comical (and touching) fashion.

In this latest page in the acclaimed reimagining of the classic adventure gaming series, King Graham takes players back to his first test as ruler of Daventry. When a band of goblins holds the kingdom hostage, a newly crowned and ill-equipped Graham must lead a daring rescue to free his people and prove himself the leader they deserve. But the choices he makes along the way may have dire consequences for those most counting on him.

King’s Quest: Rubble Without a Cause is expected to launch worldwide on Dec. 16 on the PS4/ PS3, Xbox One/Xbox 360 and PC via Steam. In North America, the versions for the PS4 and PS3 will be available late afternoon on Dec. 15.

King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember, King’s Quest: The Complete Collection (a bundle including all five chapters and a bonus playable story epilogue), and the King’s Quest Season Pass (a bundle containing Chapters 2-5) are now available through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and Steam.

In addition, King’s Quest’s first chapter, King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember, is free to download on the PS4 from the PlayStation Store throughout December starting today for PlayStation Plus members in North America.
