'Rock Band 4' (ALL) To Get Eight More U2 Tracks - Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 21, 2015 @ 8:31 a.m. PST

Rock Band 4 is the latest installment in the music/rhythm franchise, not only bringing over 2000+ songs from past iterations, but all new tracks, features & modes.

Harmonix is teaming up with Mad Catz to bring Rock Band 4 to PS4 and Xbox One, and brings the franchise to a new generation of consoles, focusing on the features and gameplay that people love, and expanding the franchise in innovative ways that were informed by how fans play and what they want.

In addition to a killer on-disc soundtrack, Rock Band 4 will support over 2000 tracks released since the 2007 launch of the original Rock Band, accounting for more than 500 of rock music’s most legendary artists.

Players who’ve purchased or downloaded playable tracks on last-generation consoles will be able to download and play those tracks on their new platforms at no additional charge. Hundreds of tracks will be available at launch, with more back catalog music – and new tracks – to be added regularly after launch.

More music from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends U2 is coming to the Rock Band™ Music Store for Xbox One and PlayStation®4 tomorrow, December 22!

These songs join the already impressive selection of new Rock Band 4 tracks released since the game’s October launch. In October, Harmonix released a 6-pack of Aerosmith hits, followed by a Van Halen 6-pack. The studio has also focused on adding current chart toppers to the catalog this year, such as Beck’s “Dreams”, Fall Out Boy’s “Irresistible”, The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face”,  Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance”, X Ambassadors’ “Renegades” and more.

For nearly four decades, U2 has won over fans around the world with its eclectic rock sound, earning them 22 Grammy Awards and countless records sold. For the first time in a rhythm action game, fans were able to play as a full band along with the band’s music, with “I Will Follow” and “Cedarwood Road” included as part of the core Rock Band 4 soundtrack. Now, Rock Band players can expand their music library with eight of U2’s treasures as part of “U2 Essentials 01.”

This must-have pack includes tracks that span U2’s incredible musical career, from “Sunday Bloody Sunday” off of the band’s third-studio record, 1983’s War, to “The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)” from 2014’s Songs of Innocence. Players can pick up the full collection of tracks for $13.49 or pick up their favorites for $1.99 apiece.

The full “U2 Essentials 01” includes:

  • “Sunday Bloody Sunday” - 1983
  • “Pride (In The Name Of Love)” - 1984
  • “Where The Streets Have No Name” - 1987
  • “Desire” - 1988
  • “One” - 1992
  • “Vertigo” - 2004
  • “California (There Is No End To Love)” - 2014
  • “The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)” - 2014
