'World of Tanks' (ALL) Rolls Out Marks of Excellence Update On Consoles

by Rainier on Aug. 27, 2015 @ 6:00 p.m. PDT

In World of Tanks Modern Armor player teams are fighting action-packed PvP battles, featuring more than 150 armored fighting vehicles from the pre-WW2 era up to the Korean War.

World of Tanks on Xbox One features hundreds of tanks painstakingly recreated in stunning and realistic detail, presented in pristine high-definition, pushing the technical capabilities of Xbox One to their limit. The title will also feature a number of firsts, including cross-platform gameplay-bridging battles between Xbox 360 and Xbox One players, shared progress and content between the two platforms through a single Xbox Live account, an all-new “Proving Grounds” Player versus Environment (PvE) mode, full social and streaming support offered by the Xbox One platform, and much more!

In World of Tanks on Xbox One you'll be able to play World of Tanks against tankers on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One at release! This means commanders on Xbox 360 and Xbox One will go head-to-head on the same battlefields. But all that high-explosive, metal-smashing, steel-on-steel combat that you know and love will look oh so nice on your Xbox One.

The new update, dubbed “Marks of Excellence”, adds new barrel art into the game that directly signifies a player’s performance during battle compared to all other World of Tanks console players. Reserved for vehicles Tier 5 and higher, new barrel art is rewarded based on the following factors:

  • One mark awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 65% of players in a particular tank
  • Two marks awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 85% of  players in a particular tank
  • Three marks awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 90% of players in a particular tank

In addition to new barrel art, World of Tanks on console will also welcome five new tanks into the fold, including three from Germany and two from the U.S.S.R. The new German vehicles include the Tier 3 medium Pz Kpfw. IV Ausf. A, the Tier 4 medium Pz Kpfw. IV Ausf. D and the updating of the Tier 5 Pz. IV to the Pz. IV Ausf. H. The Soviet additions include the Tier 6 KV-85 and the updating of the Tier 6 KV-1S to the Tier 5 KV-1S.

Your hard-earned progress comes with you to Xbox One. Because your progress is connected to your Xbox Live account, all your progress including vehicles, Experience, Credits, Gold and items that you've fought hard to earn will come with you to Xbox One, so long as you're using the same account!

Do you own both systems or play your Xbox Live account on multiple systems? As it's the same Xbox live account, you can play on both systems and maintain progress on one account. You'll be able to continue to play on Xbox 360 and Xbox One and maintain your progress across them with the same account.

World of Tanks on Xbox One will be available as a free download for all Xbox Live Gold members, and can also be experienced through a free seven-day trial for all other Xbox Live account holders.
