by Rainier on Jan. 4, 2016 @ 11:41 a.m. PST

Bombshell is a top-down action role-playing game where you, as Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison, strong-arm you way across 4 planets in an galactic adventure to the save the U.S. President from an apocalyptic alien threat.

With out-of-this-world enemies, a never-before-seen arsenal of devastating weaponry and a variety genre-crossing mechanics, Bombshell (powered by the Unreal Engine) is set to completely blow you away.

Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison, bomb technician turned mercenary for hire. A fierce gunslinger with a personality as powerful as her mechanical arm, Shelly Harrison is set to blow her enemies away with skill and style.

Shelly lost her arm and her squad after failing to disarm an otherworldly bomb in what became known as “The Washington Incident.” Held responsible for the explosion, Shelly was discharged from the Global Defence Force and later approached by a private military contractor with the promise of a second chance: an arm constructed from technological remnants found in the wake of the incident.

3DRealms announced the final casting for the leading role of Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison as Valerie Arem, of Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax and Call of Duty fame.

And of course, Bombshell's villain Professor Jadus Heskel is in the capable and familiar hands of Jon St. John, better known as the voice of Duke Nukem. When asked what it's like playing a villain, Jon said (with a grin) "It's fun to be playing a villain for once in Bombshell. There's something deeply satisfying about exploring the more devious parts of my psyche!"

LAst but not least, a new world was revealed, as well as The Planet Eater, a new weapon.

A world covered in ice, Zeroth is home of the Nhorr - an ancient undead warrior race dedicated to protecting a mysterious energy that resides within the planet’s core. This energy is believed to perpetuate their eternal existence. It’s also believed that should this energy be extracted, it could generate unimaginable power. The Nhorr are said to act as an immune system for Zeroth, repelling foreign forces regardless of their intentions.

Follow Bombshell’s quest for redemption as she fights through surreal alien worlds to rescue the President and save Earth using a growing array of special skills. With her own techtree upgrades, destructive weaponry and fierce combat abilities, Bombshell and her countless arm configurations make her the perfect soldier to stop the Kyrr, an evil alien race lead by diabolical scientist turnedmadman Jadus Heskel.

Bombshell never lets up. Fast-paced shooting, roleplaying style mechanics and an exciting story evoke a level of depth and intensity the genre has never seen before. Bombshell blends first-person shooting controls with an isometric perspective, empowering the player to save the world with deadly speed and accuracy.

Bombshell is a digital-exclusive title that will MSRP in the U.S. at $34.99, with the Bombshell Digital Deluxe Edition MSRP at $39.99.
