'Saints Row IV' (ALL) Adds Steam Workshop/Mod Support

by Rainier on Nov. 22, 2016 @ 12:59 p.m. PST

In the next installment of the open-world action game, the Third Street Saints' story continues as their head honcho has been elected to the Presidency of the United States, they are now the leaders of the free world.

But the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.

Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.

Save the world, Saints Style.

The Saints Row series is all about the freedom to play how you want, and we're now taking that one step further today with the launch of Steam Workshop support for Saints Row IV on PC. It's never been easier to create and install mods that add new weapons, clothing and change the way you play.

There were many challenges in implementing Steam Workshop functionality since the game was not originally designed to support modding. It was all a labor of love for developer Deep Silver Volition who worked directly with the modding community to develop the modding tools and adapt the game code. This was all built for the fans who have shown an incredible amount of passion and creativity over the years, and we can't wait to see what kind of crazy content they come up with.

Head over to the Saints Row IV community hub in your Steam client, click the Workshop tab, and start browsing. See a mod you like? Hit the "Subscribe" button to install.

To celebrate the launch of the Steam Workshop we're also offering 75% off Saints Row IV on Steam all this week and next.
