'Tekken 7' (ALL) Reveals New Characters, Online Tournament Mode Details - Screens & Trailer

Tekken 7 returns to its gameplay roots with classic 1 vs 1 bouts and its canon storyline centered on the eternal struggle for power amongst the members of the Mishima clan.

With newcomer Kazumi Mishima joining the fight, the epic battle between father and son, and also husband and wife, will come to its fated conclusion in Tekken 7. The supposedly killed wife of the main protagonist of the series, Heihachi Mishima, is also the mother of Kazuya Mishima. Her powers will be key to understand the feud between Heihachi Mishima, his son Kazuya Mishima and his grandson Jin Kazama. The conclusion of the Mishima clan saga is sure to be dark, but also sweet for early PlayStation fans as the origins of the Devil Gene, among other Tekken mysteries, will finally be unveiled.

Tekken 7 is currently in development at Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.’s Tokyo, Japan studio under the leadership of franchise director, Katsuhiro Harada. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, Tekken 7 sets a new standard in graphics quality for the series, featuring highly detailed characters and dynamic environments. In its first appearance on home systems, Tekken 7 will feature numerous modes and enhancements beyond its arcade counterpart, including an in-depth story mode that lets players fully experience the canon storyline. Players will also be able to check out new fighters Kazumi Mishima, Claudio, Josie, Shaheen, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, Gigas, and more for the first time outside of the arcade.

For the uninitiated, Kuma serves as both pet and bodyguard for Heihachi Mishima and is trained in the Heihachi-style Kuma Shinken. Possessing great strength and intelligence, Kuma is a powerful foe to all that care to step in the ring to face his deadly claws and fearsome fangs.

Panda on the other hand takes a softer approach in her disposition. Introduced in TEKKEN 3 as Ling Xiaoyu’s pet and protector, Panda learned the same  Heihachi-style Kuma Shinken style of fighting when she traveled to the Mishima Industrial College to train in martial art in preparation to participate in the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. Finally a fun fact; it is well known that Kuma has a big crush on Panda, but unfortunately for Kuma… Panda has no interest in him.

We’re also sharing details about the new Online Tournament Mode that will be part of the Tekken 7 console experience.

The Tekken 7 Online Tournament Mode will enable players to create and participate in their own online tournaments with up to eight competitors. Tournament organizers can select single or double elimination rules and set up passwords for secured tournament entry and spectating (Spectator Mode). Winners of online tournaments may win in-game items such as fight money and other items.
