by Rainier on March 9, 2016 @ 5:13 p.m. PST

The game delivers on what the fans want, and what Need for Speed stands for - deep customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that pulls you through the game.

Fuelled by EA's own car culture community, Speedhunters, Need for Speed will deliver an experience that's grounded in authentic car culture by diving into the rich world of past, present and emergent trends of the urban car scene. This collaboration with Speedhunters in the research and development of the game means the level of detail and real-world authenticity will envelop gamers in an exciting world to discover and enjoy in a way that only Need for Speed can deliver.

Need for Speed challenges players to carve their path through Ventura Bay and master the Five Ways to Play - Speed, Style, Build, Crew, and Outlaw.  Inspired by five real world heroes of today’s car culture, earn their respect and build your reputation on your journey to become the ultimate icon.

Players are encouraged to get to grips with the richest customization ever seen in a Need for Speed game. Authentic visual customization with leading after-market brands, performance upgrades, and personalized handling allow players to create the perfect ride to suit their personality and driving style.

Starting today, Origin Access members can play Need for Speed for up to 10 hours ahead of its official release. Members can test drive every mode in the game as they journey to become the ultimate icon. Members also get a 10% discount on the full game as well as all other purchases on Origin.

Need for Speed for PC will launch March 15 on Origin with new features, including unlocked framerate with 4K resolution, manual transmission, and steering wheel support for a selection of steering wheels. It will also contain all the improvements EA has made to Need for Speed since the game launched in November for consoles, including both the Icons and Legends updates from day one, with the Showcase and Hot Rods updates scheduled to arrive shortly after launch.

Origin Access lets PC players experience endless PC gaming for just $4.99 a month. In addition to playing EA games first for a limited time with Play First Trials, membership also unlocks The Vault, a growing collection of 15 great PC games members can download and play as much as they want including Battlefield 4, The Sims 3, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
