'Heroes of the Storm' Introduces New Hero - Trailer

by Rainier on May 18, 2016 @ 12:00 a.m. PDT

Originally called Blizzard DOTA, then Blizzard All-Stars, Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard's own free-to-play take on the Massively Online Battle Arena genre, featuring heroes and villains from the Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo franchises.

In Heroes, the epic battles between the champions and villains of Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo aren’t settled with last hits and kill-stealing—players are distinguished through the accomplishments of their team.

Whether you’re a hardcore WoW raider, a demon-slaying Barbarian, or a Bronze league Terran, you’ll find a customizable hero from across the Blizzard multiverse to suit your play style. Grab your buddies and engage in fast-paced mayhem across varied battlegrounds that impact strategy and change the way you play every match. When the mightiest characters in gaming history clash, only you can decide who’ll come out on top!

Characters like Thrall, Kerrigan, Diablo, Arthas, Zeratul, Tyrael—powerful warriors from Azeroth, Sanctuary, the Koprulu sector, and beyond—have been sucked into the Nexus, a transdimensional storm. Stranded in a strange limbo of clashing universes, these combatants are joined by the same fate—to engage in pulse-pounding combat, to team up in a deadly struggle for survival . . . and to answer the age-old question. . . .

With Tracer time-jumping around the Nexus, someone has to make sure the temporal stream stays intact. Enter Chromie, the seemingly precocious and incredibly powerful Bronze Dragon. Sensing a disturbance of the greatest proportion in a brand new world, Chromie now makes her first foray into the Nexus… or is it her second foray? Or third? There’s really no telling. It’s so hard to keep track!

Capable of bending time to her will, Chronormu (as she’s known outside of her gnome form) is eternally tasked with maintaining the balance of infinite timelines by any means necessary. In the Nexus, Chromie is a long-ranged artillery hero bolstered by the time-bending powers of the Bronze Dragonflight. Although fragile with few defenses, she’s a powerhouse when it comes to damage. With her finely tuned cast times, cooldowns, and chronal manipulation kit—including her Timewalker trait, which allows her to earn her talents one level earlier than other heroes—she is truly a master of time.

Strengths: Long-range burst damage, area control, and temporal utility

  • (Trait) Timewalker: Chromie has traveled into the future, and as such, she will learn her Talents one level earlier than her teammates.
  •  (Q) Sand Blast: After 1 second, fire a long-range blast that damages the first enemy Hero it hits.
  • (W) Dragon’s Breath: Fire a blast into the air that lands after 1.5 seconds, dealing damage to enemies in an area. Enemies cannot see where the blast will land.
  •  (E) Time Trap: Place a Time Trap that arms and Stealths after 2 seconds. The first enemy Hero to touch it will be placed into Stasis for 2 seconds. Only 1 trap can exist at once.
  • (R1) Slowing Sands: Create a swirling vortex of sand which greatly slows enemies caught within its area of effect. The longer Slowing Sands is active, the greater its slow becomes.
  • (R2) Temporal Loop: Target enemy Hero will be teleported 3 seconds back in time to the position they were in when you initially cast Temporal Loop.
