Star Wars: The Old Republic is a Free-to-Play MMO where you team up with friends online to fight in heroic battles between the Republic and Empire, exploring a galaxy of vibrant planets and experiencing visceral Star Wars combat.Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles, defining their personal story and determining their path down the light or dark side of the Force. Along the way, players will befriend courageous companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players’ actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges using dynamic Star Wars combat.
during an EA Star Wars panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe, James Ohlen, Director of Design for BioWare helped celebrate the game's upcoming 5-year anniversary, revealing a brand new digital expansion pack coming this fall, Knights of the Eternal Throne.
The all new expansion pack adds more of BioWare's trademark cinematic storytelling, as well as exciting new game features in one of the largest updates the team has made since the game launched in 2011.
BioWare also released an infographic, compiling some of the community's most impressive feats over the last five years and the Star Wars: The Old Republic 5 year Anniversary video.
