Xbox One S Gets 'Madden 17' And 'Halo Collection' Hardware Bundles

by Rainier on July 26, 2016 @ 1:00 p.m. PDT

Xbox One is Microsoft's all-in-one gaming and entertainment system that puts you at the center of all your games, TV, movies, music, sports and Skype.

In addition to being the most compact Xbox yet, Xbox One S is the first and only console that allows you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD and High Dynamic Range (HDR).

The 2TB Xbox One S launch edition will begin hitting shelves in select regions on August 2. That means that all pre-orders will arrive on August 2 and, for those of you that haven’t yet, you can still pre-order a 2TB Xbox One S launch edition through microsoftstore.com and select retailers. Availability is limited and demand is high so you’ll want to check with your local retailer for more information and pre-order your console soon.

Xbox One S is the most compact Xbox yet, 40% smaller than the original Xbox One, and includes a built-in power supply. We also shifted one of the three USB ports and the pairing button to the front of the Xbox One S alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility.

Beyond the fresh new design, Xbox One S is the first and only console that allows you to watch Blu-ray movies and stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). That means you’ll get to enjoy your favorite shows and movies in the clearest, most realistic video possible. With HDR support for video and gaming, Xbox One games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Scalebound will look even better thanks to a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, bringing out the true visual depth of your favorite games.

Today, we’re announcing the first set of 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S bundles, the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle and the Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle. Both bundles arrive in stores on August 23 and are available for pre-order starting today.

Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle

In partnership with EA SPORTS, we’re offering the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle for fans in the U.S. and Canada. Packed with everything a football fan needs to get ready for the season, the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle comes loaded with a 1TB hard drive to play all the biggest blockbusters in Xbox history, a full-game download of Madden NFL 17, seven Madden Ultimate Team Pro Packs and one month of EA Access for $349 USD / $449 CAD. And now for a limited time, when you purchase the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle, you’ll get a promotional code for 20 percent off your next order at NFLShop.com.

Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle

In addition to the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle, we’re also offering the Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle, the ideal way to dive into the world of Xbox One and the iconic Halo universe. The Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle comes with a 500GB or 1TB Xbox One S, matching Xbox Wireless Controller and five games between Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It’s perfect for those looking to relive the Master Chief’s epic journey or battle on the biggest maps in franchise history in Warzone multiplayer.

Both the 500GB and 1TB hard drive options for the Xbox One Halo Collection Bundle will be available at participating retailers, including Microsoft Stores, in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand for $299 USD and $349 USD, respectively. Note that, in the U.S., the 1TB hard drive option will only be available in very limited quantities at select Microsoft Stores and microsoftstore.com. We’ll have more to share about 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S bundles in additional markets next month.

Xbox One S also comes bundled with the new Xbox Wireless Controller featuring textured grip, improved Xbox Wireless signal and added Bluetooth* support. The controller can be purchased as a standalone item for $59.99 USD and will also be available on August 2. All Xbox One games, accessories and Xbox Live services will work with Xbox One S.

The 2TB launch edition Xbox One S will be available in limited quantities for $399 USD on August 2 in the following regions: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States. Xbox One S will also be hitting store shelves for additional markets later this year.

For those of you looking for additional Xbox One S hard drive options, we will also be offering the console with 1TB and 500GB hard drives for $349 USD and $299 USD, respectively, so you can choose the right console for you. More details on the specific availability dates of these two options will be shared soon.
