'Chroma Squad' (ALL) Picked Up By Bandai Namco, Also Coming to Vita, Delayed Until 2017

by Rainier on Sept. 4, 2016 @ 12:21 p.m. PDT

In Chroma Squad you will manage an indie Japanese superhero TV studio, casting actors, purchasing equipment, crafting weapons and giant Mechas out of cardboard and glue to create your own TV show.

Once the cameras are rolling, players will control their cast of five colored-jumpsuit-clad warriors in dramatic, turn-based battles. The developers behind the game grew up watching sentai series like Flashman and Changeman, as well as Saban’s Power Rangers, which had a particularly huge influence on the creation of Chroma Squad.

Throughout the game, players will cast actors, purchase & upgrade equipment, craft weapons, and build giant mechs to battle evil and fight for justice with the goal of generating high TV viewer ratings.

Chroma Squad features classic sprite-based graphics and presents its story in a humor-filled Tokusatsu style made famous in classic, live-action Japanese sci-fi film and TV shows.

Key Features

  • Create your own TV studio: hire actors, upgrade your equipment, do marketing, craft weapons, costumes and giant cardboard robots!

  • In-Depth RPG systems with skill trees, random equipment, crafting, and branching storyline!
  • A love letter to tokusatsu and the Japanese series of our childhood!

Already available on PC (2015), Chroma Squad will be available for the PS4, Xbox One, Vita, iOS, and Android.
