'Marvel Heroes 2016' Gets Biggest Update Yet, Overhauls Characters, Systems, Items, And More

Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play MMORPG featuring characters such as Iron Man, Captain America, Deadpool and Squirrel Girl, with a story written by Marvel comics' Brian Michael Bendis revolving around super villain Doctor Doom.

In Marvel Heroes, players can collect and play as their favorite Marvel Super Heroes as they team up with friends to try to stop Doctor Doom from devastating the world with the power of the Cosmic Cube.

Featuring an original storyline created by Marvel super-scribe Brian Michael Bendis, players collect and play as iconic Marvel Super Heroes, including Iron Man, Thor, Wolverine, Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America and many more. Players will be able to suit up as their favorite heroes in Spring 2013 to battle notorious Marvel Super Villains (Magneto, Doctor Octopus, Madame Hydra, the Kingpin and more) en route to stopping Doctor Doom from destroying the world with the power of the Cosmic Cube.

Beginning today, Gazillion’s super-powered action-RPG set in the Marvel Universe reinvents itself with refinements to systems, items, and over 50 Super Heroes and Super Villains.

“Gazillion has learned a lot in the last three years building Marvel Heroes,” says Ben Gilbert, Lead Systems Designer at Gazillion. “We're applying that knowledge in some sweeping iterations to Super Hero powers, enemies, and loot—the very core of the game. In the course of these changes, we’ve updated virtually every aspect of gameplay, and we're confident that we’re now offering the best version of Marvel Heroes by many light-years.”

For those interested in the intricacies of the update, Gilbert has written a series of in-depth developer blogs over the past few months:

  2. Items
  3. The Infinity System
  4. Difficulty Slider
