Session: Skate Sim is a skateboarding sim entirely focused on creativity and freedom of expression, nothing else!

Download the Session Kickstarter PC Demo (1.1GB)

Inspired by the golden era of skateboarding, the early 90s and early 2000, Session's primary goal is to make you experience what skateboarding really is; an incredible sport where there are no other goals other than expressing your creativity and achieving success through hard work, perseverance and bits of madness for no one else other than yourself.

Sporting dual stick controls that mirror the movement of each foot, executing tricks feels as intuitive as it would in your local park, serving up the most authentic-feeling skateboarding in a video game. Included in the demo is a tutorial and outdoor skatepark to get you started. Will it be tough at first? Yeah. Will you fall face-first down a flight of stairs? Who hasn’t? It’s all about the journey, so when you land that first kickflip out of a grind, you’ll feel invincible!

So, what’s Session all about? Just like skateboarding IRL, it’s about the freedom to express yourself. Whether you’re all about perfecting that one elusive move, or have a sick line planned out for your next tape, you set your own goals in Session. Progression simply comes from honing your street chops. But what are skills if you can’t show them off to the rest of the world? With Session, creā-ture offers up the tools needed to create and share your tightest content with skaters around the world.

Whether you have no idea what goofy and mongo mean, or have a laser flip or two under your belt, Session’s here to remind you why you fell in love with the sport or give you a reason to fall for the first time (again, literally).

After nailing its kickstarter funding goal in less than four days, Session is within arm’s reach of its first major stretch goal to unlock mini-ramps, mega-ramps and the game’s first playable pro skater: five-time X Games medalist, Elliot Sloan.

Known for his high-flying talent, Elliot won’t just be adding his likeness to the game, but he will join developer crea-ture Studios to participate in motion capture for Session’s vert update. This means that players won’t just be getting more gameplay bang for their crowdfunding buck, but they’ll be getting the expertise of one of the sport’s modern heroes.

That’s not all crea-ture Studios has been planning, though. Regardless of whether or not they hit this stretch goal, they’ve added the Session Party Pack with not one, not two, but three competitive modes for claiming supremacy among friends. Genre fans will feel right at home with S.K.A.T.E. and Spot Battle, as they challenge players to imitate their friends’ best tricks and own specific spots with their best lines, respectively. Skate or Dice stands to further shake things up, as players are tasked with nailing random tricks, as decided by a series of dice.

With just seven days to go before the campaign closes its digital doors and creā-ture Studios hunkers down in their skate lab to prepare for Early Access in early 2018, there’s still time to unlock a whole host of ways to skate! From online multiplayer and the ability to ride around, camera in hand, to Steam Workshop support and a park editor, the team at crea-ture has set out to make the most authentic skateboarding game ever and are committed to keeping their community involved in the process every step of the way.

Session plans to launch into Early Access on PC and Xbox One in Q2 2018.

Key Features:

  • No scoring system: Focus on what skateboard really is! If a handrail inspires you to do a backside lipslide, then so be it!
  • Dual stick controls: Each stick controls a foot to replicate authentic and intuitive skateboarding motions.
  • Filmer mode: Go online with friends, be the filmer and grab the gnarliest, crispiest footy you can, the way you want!
  • Play a movie: VHS-like checkpoint system. Rewind, Forward, Skip, Pause, Play your scene, replay and re-skate them until you’re proud of it.
  • Skate and destroy: Embrace street skating as you read your environment and exploit it in any way you can imagine. Cities aren’t built for skaters, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be skated.
