Building on the fast-paced action the series is famous for, Attack on Titan 2 is a gripping sequel that features an abundance of new gameplay mechanics.

Players will once again don the renowned Omni-Directional Manoeuver Gear as they fight and repel the fearsome Titans that threaten humanity, to restore peace within the walls.

Attack on Titan 2 delves deeply into the fascinating narrative of Attack on Titan’s second season and offers players versatile action and new challenges, as it introduces the newly improved omni-directional mobility gear offering advanced freedom of movement and targeting precision to counter enhanced Titan movements.

Delving deeper into the series’ fascinating narrative, the game will have fans experiencing the gripping events of the anime’s second season along with versatile action gameplay, all new challenges, and a wide selection of playable characters from Attack on Titan, including some new faces from the second season!

Koei Tecmo is introducing a selection of 30+ playable characters in Attack on Titan 2, while simultaneously unveiling the ability for players to create their own Custom Scout. They also confirmed that players will be able to play as; Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Levi, Miche Zacharias, Nanaba, Gelgar, Ymir and Christa Lenz.

KOEI TECMO released new information for Attack on Titan 2; including details on the character creation studio and intricate Town Life features, as well as introducing five new characters - Sasha Braus, Jean Kirschtein, Marco Bodt, Daz and Conny Springer.

Before diving into Attack on Titan 2’s fan-favorite story, players are invited to create their very own customizable protagonist in the character creation studio. The studio offers a multitude of customization options; including the ability to customize body shape, hairstyle, facial features, clothing and tone of voice. This comprehensive system provides all the necessary tools for a player to participate in their own unique Attack on Titan experience.

After taking on titanic foes across captivating battle sequences, players are able to experience the more tranquil day-to-day life of a Scout in the enhanced Town Life feature. A wide selection of handy amenities, crucial for battle preparation, are scattered around the camp; such as the Titan Research Room, Training Facilities, Regiment Store, and Regiment Administration office. These can be used to prepare for upcoming missions.

Visiting the Titan Research Room will allow players to view the Titans which they’ve caught while using the Restraining Gun in battle, as well as read through detailed information to aid them in future encounters. To vanquish these devastating creatures, the player can increase the levels of their stats at the Training Facilities - choosing among activities such as traditional lectures and hand-to-hand combat training with fellow comrades.

Resources are incredibly useful in the development and enhancement of weaponry, and can be used at the Regiment Store to improve the stats of a weapon as well as purchasing the required materials and high-grade equipment. Players will receive a bounty of these resources and materials with every victorious battle. To make for an even swifter victory, various types of bases, such as the Automated Artillery, can be built and upgraded.

In Attack on Titan 2 players are able to take on Scout Missions from regiment officers, providing an avenue for gaining experience, regiment funds, and rare materials—ones you would not come across in main missions. Players choosing to head out with their favorite comrades are able to deepen their relationships and gain a better understanding for their teammates; providing a greater edge in defeating their foes.

Attack on Titan 2’s Buddy Actions are support options team members can offer to one another. These options include Rescue, Recovery, and Titan Transformation; the latter of which offers a team member the potential to unlock the power of Titans!

Not all features are support-focused however, with moves like hook drives resulting in a fast-paced ‘jump and evade’ style attacks and sneak attacks helping Scouts strategize and withhold powerful attacks for just the right moment. For sneak attacks to be successful, the Scouts have to remain undetected by Titans; a feat not so easily achieved if players linger too much in their gigantic foes’ field of vision. Balancing the gameplay even more, players will also be able to equip flash grenades, used to incapacitate Titans in danger zones. Items such as restraining guns can also assist in the capture of Titans.

Outside of the battle, Scouts will be able to replenish their gas, blades, and other supplies at Bases. Some bases also serve as safe havens as they are equipped with automated artillery towers that attack Titans.

Attack on Titan 2 will feature enhanced Titan movements and attacks, requiring more precise maneuvers from players. Additionally, it introduces the Monocular; allowing scouts better analyzation based on pinpointing Titan positions from afar and attack strategy utilizing their Omni-Directional Mobility Gear.

Outside of their excursions, Scouts can also deepen their relationships with fellow comrades by training and preparing for battle with the new and improved Town Life gameplay. Strengthening relationships is an important element of Attack on Titan 2, providing a greater insight into the series’ cast in a way that has yet to be experienced.

Players will be able to try their new moves against these fearsome Titans as they control characters from a Titan-sized roster! Outside of battle they will be able to deepen their relationships with their fellow squad-mates while gaining greater insight into life within the walls thanks to more advanced RPG elements.

Attack on Titan 2 will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) in March 20, 2018.
