'Welcome To Orochi Park' Demo Available - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 4, 2017 @ 9:15 a.m. PST

A fusion of turn-based strategy with classic text adventure storytelling, Welcome To Orochi Park is an advanced Twine game, with the popular interactive fiction engine enhanced with high-quality artwork, full voice acting, and complex persistent game systems.

Welcome To Orochi Park is in fact the most advanced Twine game ever made, with the popular interactive fiction engine enhanced with high-quality artwork, full voice acting, and complex persistent game systems.

The game started life as a fan project for The Secret World but Anima Chambers soon developed Welcome To Orochi Park into a full-scale separate game, which parodies a range of other video games, pop culture quirks, and more besides.

In a secret world where the book is always better than the movie, an occult weapon of mass destruction decimates London. Templars respond in kind. New York City sinks. Millions drown. The Secret War turns hot. Illuminati invade England. Something terrible awakens, deep under the sea.

As Templar-Marshal Celestine, command your secret society's remaining forces from the doomsday bunker, where depleted vaults still house more firepower than all the western militaries combined. Push back the Illuminati invasion, or arrest the panic sweeping the globe. Whichever path you choose, it's probably going have a really bad ending...

In the new demo, Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un find themselves teaming up to fight a greater evil. Funcom writer and game director Joel Bylos makes a cameo. The demo is an early one - the game is far from finished - but creator Anima Chambers hopes this will give people a taste of what's to come, as well as the opportunity for valuable feedback.

"Welcome To Orochi Park has been a labour of love for years now, and I'm delighted to finally reveal what I've been working on," said Chambers. "The full game won't be released for some time yet, but the demo should give people a sense of what the game is all about."

Chambers added: "The Secret World community have been really supportive so far, which is great for something that began its life as a fan project. I'm very grateful for my core fanbase of The Secret World players."
