'Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade' Expands Free To Play Content

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is a 3rd person persistent MMOTPS of the 41st Millenium.

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade features a persistent world where players must choose from one of four factions and work together to take down opposing forces.

Based on the multimillion-selling and extensive Warhammer 40,000 universe, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will take gamers into a vicious battle between four factions (Eldar, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, and Space Marines) in the 41st millennium in order to gain control of a world at war. Whether playing PvP (Player versus Player) or PvE (Player versus Environment) missions, squads will have to work together and engage in massive battles to exterminate enemy factions. Players can choose from twenty different sub-factions, utilize hundreds of weapons, and bring to bear customization options and accessories drawn from 29 years of Warhammer 40,000 lore to create their perfect warriors.

Eternal Crusade's combat is fully action-based, meaning that you hit exactly where you shoot or swing and it's up to your skill whether you pull off a headshot or block that incoming chainsword. Both ranged and melee weapons have equal emphasis – as in the iconic battles of Warhammer 40,000, combat begins at a distance with guns and heavy vehicle-mounted weaponry before progressing to bloody blade-on-blade action with brutal executions.

Behaviour Digital today announces that for the first time, you can join, for free, the fiercest Warhammer 40,000 battles in an online shooter with a new version of Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade.

“In addition to the regular free updates and expansions - we believe we can achieve both the goal of reaching a broader audience, and provide options for how you want to play Eternal Crusade.”  – Stephen Mulrooney, SVP Publishing - Behaviour Digital

Free updates, expansions, and the new free version are essential to achieve Behaviour Digital’s vision of Eternal Crusade becoming the ultimate playground for your Warhammer 40,000 fantasies.

For the new players to enjoy the full experience and be part of the game community, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade has expanded the free version. It includes all factions so you can spill blood for your chosen divinity. The team’s original plan for the free version of the game, known as “Free to WAAAGH!”, was limited to Orks only.

  1. Free Version – 4 of the 5 available classes, normal character progression. Purchasing a total of 20,000 in game credits will also upgrade your account. Your extra progression will be unleashed when you upgrade.
  2. Squadron Edition - Full game with 20,000 Rogue Trader Credits. Also upgrades the Free version. Progression is 3 times faster.
  3. Imperium Edition - Full game with 20,000 Rogue Trader Credits and 4 packs of weapons and armour (one pack for each faction). Progression is 3 times faster.

As always, we want to thank our current players and founders for their dedication to the project and their continued support. In appreciation of their loyalty, we have given them 20,000 bonus Rogue Trader Credits as well as a giftable Steam version of the full game.

“To be brutally honest, we wanted more people to shoot at and try out the game before investing their time and money, and this is part of that strategy. In our tests on pricing and positioning, people wanted more options, so we adapt and deliver.” said Behaviour Digital Senior Producer Nathan Richardsson
