'Heroes & Generals' Update Adds Medic Abilities, Fixes & Tweaks

by Rainier on March 21, 2017 @ 9:49 a.m. PDT

Heroes & Generals WWII is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online first person shooter set in WW2, where Germany, the United States and the Soviet Union fight for victory in one grand persistent online war.

Heroes & Generals eliminates the formulaic baggage that weighs down the shooter genre by delivering satisfying strategic action in a full blown first-person shooter experience. Players are transported from the comfort of their browsers to authentic WWII battlefields, where they fight alongside thousands of gamers for persistent progression and military supremacy.

Each player in Heroes & Generals chooses their own destiny. You might join the Axis and climb the ranks as a foot soldier, firing off countless rounds in epic battles for crucial landmarks. Or perhaps you’ll become a general in the US army and accept the task of deploying resources and reinforcements across a vast strategic map.

Either way your decisions and actions fundamentally impact the game. Whether you play a fearless infantryman blazing the trenches, a hotshot pilot renowned for precision bombing runs, a brutal gunner assigned to a rumbling tank battalion, or the ace commander directing it all from strategic command – every active soldier contributes to an evolving online war that will soon expand to smartphones and tablets as well.

Make a difference and heal yourself and your friends in the hellfire of battle with First Aid Kits for Heroes & Generals.

More than 60 different weapons can put an end to your life as a soldier in WW2 MMOFPS Heroes & Generals. However, with the just released ‘Medic!’-update and the new First Aid Kits you can now treat a wounded teammate or heal yourself in battle.

“Soldiers who know how to effectively utilize a First Aid Kit on the frontline will provide a major tactical advantage to their teams,” says Jacob Andersen, Game Director at Reto-Moto: “First Aid Kits have been one of the most requested features among the community, and we are happy to finally have them in Heroes & Generals.”

With the ‘Medic!’-update all soldiers in Heroes & Generals have the option of equipping either the standard First Aid Kit or the larger Medic Pouch. By doing so, players can now support their friends in combat in addition to “just” shoot at the enemy – they can even, if they so desire, equip their soldiers with multiple Medic Pouches and minimal weaponry to create in effect their own field medic class.

The First Aid Kit and Medic Pouch are available for all factions and for all soldier types in Heroes & Generals today.

Along with the new update Heroes & Generals also offers players a Veteran Year Bundle available in the ingame store for a limited time only.

    • D2 to D3 area, added extra cover for infantry, in particular coming from the D2D3 Deploy Zone
    • D3D4 Deploy zone moved to newly added house on the road from D3D4, this is to prevent a strong advantage for the Defenders when trying to flank D3 as attacker
    • D4 can no longer be captured from below the bridge
    • E2E3 Deploy zone moved more towards center of the line to decrease travel time. Trees were added as extra cover
    • Added an extra river crossing next to the E3E4 deploy zone to make it easier for attackers to cross the river again

We are aware and thankful of the feedback given about in particular the placement of the Deploy Zones on the Medium French Village map. We have been actively collecting this feedback and are looking into further improvements to the map, to facilitate better gameplay and improve the gameflow. Due to the compact structure of the town area it’s difficult to re-locate Deploy Zones to more suitable areas, as enough room needs to be made to supply enough deploy locations. Rest assured we are on top of it and hope to further increase the fun you experience on this map.
