'Cities: Skylines' Mass Transit Expansion Dated - Trailer

by Rainier on April 13, 2017 @ 11:04 a.m. PDT

Cities: Skylines pulls players out of the public transportation offices and grants them the power of true urban planning and development.

Inhabit a world where you define the rules.

Cities: Skylines invites you to create the city of your dreams in a sprawling landscape dominated by cloud hugging structures and jaw dropping architectural marvels.

Create the cities of their dreams in Cities: Skylines, a massive city simulator from the creators of the Cities in Motion series. Vast backdrops and maps provide players with countless ways to improve and expand their cities, building from humble beginnings up to beautiful, cloud-hugging structures and unique architectural marvels.

You’re only limited by your imagination, so take control and reach for the sky!

Mass Transit will bring new forms of transportation to the game, allowing mayor-players to offer in-game citizens new ways to get across town by land, sea, and air. With new transit service buildings, mass transit hubs where lines can exchange passengers, new scenarios, new landmarks, and new road types, Mass Transit will provide veteran players of Cities: Skylines with more choices and options to personalize their cities than ever before.

Mass Transit will feature:

  • The Road to Riches:  Ferries, blimps, cable cars, and monorails help move your citizens around town, and get their money into your city's coffers.
  • Home is where the Hub is: The transit hub connects all your transit together, letting citizens ail lines in one building, or hop from the bus onto the ferry, or even find their way through a sprawling monorail-train-metro station.
  • The Traffic Must Flow: New scenarios will test your traffic management skills and transit system vision.  New road types, bridges and canals adds  variety to your city, and new ways to solve its challenges.  Become an expert in traffic flow, and then use that knowledge to improve your city!
  • New Hats for Chirper: No expansion is complete without some new hats for fictional birds!

Per usual, the new expansion will arrive together with a free update to the base game upon release. This free update adds mod-inspired features to traffic management, such as an extended public transport budget, emergency vehicle overtaking and more road features. The patch will also include the much-requested ability to name roads.

Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit will release May 18th on PC, Mac and Linux for $12.99.

Key Features:

  • City policies: Set policies to guide how the city and districts develop over the course of your playthrough.
  • City districts: Personalize city districts with names of your choice for variety and personality.
  • Road building and zoning
  • Unlock buildings and services
  • Taxation: Fine-tuning the city budget and services and setting tax rates to different residential, commercial and industrial levels and controlling what kind of areas are more likely to spawn in the zoned areas
