'LEGO Worlds' (ALL) Update Adds Sandbox Mode

by Rainier on May 25, 2017 @ 11:04 a.m. PDT

LEGO Worlds is a limitless collection of procedurally generated worlds made entirely of LEGO Bricks, where players build unique environments and define their own experience.

In LEGO Worlds, players uncover hidden treasures in environments that range from fun to the fantastical, where worlds come to life with a dizzying variety of vehicles and creatures – from cowboys riding giraffes to vampires scaring Yetis, to steamrollers, racing cars and colossal digging machines. Gamers can embark on a quest to become a Master Builder by helping other LEGO characters along the way – find a sword for a king, protect a farmer from a zombie invasion, or build a home for a caveman. Environments and creations are brought to life in any way fans can imagine, either by building brick by brick, placing down enormous pre-built LEGO structures, or by using wondrous tools that let you paint and shape the landscape. LEGO Worlds’ online multiplayer functionality allows players to explore each other’s worlds together, create together, and engage in cooperative and competitive play experiences that players can build themselves.

The new content, available now on PS4, Xbox One and STEAM, expands the LEGO Worlds universe with Sandbox Mode and adds highly requested game features, new themes and smoother UI.

Update details:

  • Sandbox Mode - An immersive building experience where players can let their imaginations run wild with all of the game’s tools, objects and bricks instantly available at their fingertips. This mode will skip the LEGO Worlds’ tutorial worlds, so new players will want to try Adventure Mode first in order to fully understand the tools - and some of the rarest, harder to find creatures are locked until they’re found in Adventure Mode.
  • New Models for the Brick Build Showcase Coming Soon - Players should keep an eye out for new models coming soon to the Brick Build Showcase. The brick built models will include new characters, creatures, vehicles, props and items from the Nexo Knight and City Emergency themes, with even more themes to follow.
  • Updated UI - The LEGO Worlds updated user interface includes a new Front Menu and the removal of a few prompts from in-game.

LEGO Worlds is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with a Switch version expected later this year.
