'Raiders of the Broken Planet' (ALL) Gets Release Date - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 18, 2017 @ 4:23 p.m. PDT

Spacelords is a multiplayer online asymmetric adventure where you fight the invaders by teaming up with other Raiders, or turn the tables and storm into battle with those invaders fighting at your side!

An incredible discovery on one of Saturn’s moons leads a force of humans to the Broken Planet on the far reaches of the Universe. A source of energy called Aleph exists there that grants ultimate power to whoever controls it…

However, the human forces split into factions and fight amongst themselves for dominion over the Aleph. The peaceful inhabitants of the planet are caught in the crossfire, but a hero emerges amongst them who hopes to lead his people to freedom…

Using nefarious means and exploiting the disunity amongst the human ranks, Harec recruits a rag tag group of rogues, outlaws and hired guns from the various factions and pits them against those who would destroy his people...

In Raiders of the Broken Planet, become a Raider and join the battle both on and offline in awesome 3rd person Brawler-Shooter gameplay. Customise your character’s combat style in unique ways with special collectible cards. Use Aleph to your advantage, to power special abilities, but manage it properly or you will give away your position on the battlefield!

In Raiders of the Broken Planet you pick your protagonist and work together with three other players in a counter-operative adventure. The biggest idea underpinning the game is something akin to Dark Souls, where a single player, The Antagonist, can invade a match just as it begins and choose to fight alongside the bad guys against the four-player human team. The goal of this Antagonist is simply to troll the good guys and prevent them from achieving their mission objectives.

Launching on September 22nd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, Raiders of the Broken Planet - Prologue will set the scene for the adventures to come. This Prologue is a completely free download, containing a wealth of content including two lengthy missions across four stages, multiple characters to play with and full “no holds” barred access to both the single player and online multiplayer game modes.

On the same day, the first Raiders of the Broken Planet campaign - Alien Myths - will launch priced at a staggeringly low €9.99/$9.99/£9.99. Alien Myths contains hours of incredible additional content including new characters, new missions and an awesome stand-alone story that builds the world of Raiders of the Broken Planet even further.

Three more campaigns will be released at regular intervals: Wardog Fury, Hades Betrayal and Council’s Apocalypse. Each campaign will tell a new parallel story, add new characters and offer exceptional value. The parallel stories mean players can jump in at any time, not feel lost with what’s going on and importantly not have to play the campaigns in any set order.

Each upcoming campaign will be developed in conjunction with feedback from the growing community, turning Raiders of the Broken Planet into something those invested in the game really want. This is developer and audience making a game together in real time. “We want to be a developer in constant dialogue with our audience and ethical in our dealings at all times,” said Enric Alvarez, Studio Head at Mercury Steam. “Games are expensive and sometimes disappoint after all the media hype. We think allowing players to jump in for free is fair and if they like what they see, paying a reasonable price for more content is a better way to win them over.”

Raiders of the Broken Planet launches for PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 22, 2017.
