'Middle-earth: Shadow of War' (ALL) Enhanced For Xbox One X, Gets Xbox One S Bundle - Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 20, 2017 @ 2:45 p.m. PDT

Middle-earth: Shadow of War features an original story with the return of Talion and Celebrimbor, who must go behind enemy lines to forge an army and turn all of Mordor against the Dark Lord, Sauron.

In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, players wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth. The open-world action-adventure game is brought to life through the expansion of the award-winning Nemesis System. The robust personalization from the first game is now applied to the entire world where the environments and characters are all shaped by player actions and decisions, creating a personal world unique to every gameplay experience.

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth: Shadow of War continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Players will be engrossed in a richer, more personal and expansive world full of epic heroes and villains, iconic locations, original enemy types, even more personalities and a new cast of characters with untold stories.

In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, nothing will be forgotten.

The new “Monsters of Mordor” trailer features the many beasts we’ll encounter and possess, like fire graugs and drakes. And yes, you saw that right. That’s a Carnan Drake taking on a Balrog

It appears we’ll witness the “first” appearance of the Balrog in Shadow of War as he’s summoned by orcs from a pit of lava (and our battles with him will continue across Mordor).

Another force we’re introduced to is Carnan, a mighty spirit of nature who has survived in Mordor. This primeval creature can take on a variety of forms, but it’s hard to tell yet if she’ll be a friend or foe to Talion.

The scope of the game is also back on display in this trailer, with a variety of geography showcased of what and where we can explore, like the forests of Nurn, the barren land of Gorgoroth, and the frozen mountains of Seregost.

Forge your army and defeat Sauron with the new Xbox One S Shadow of War Bundles (1TB and 500GB) launching October 10. Experience how the award-winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and go behind enemy lines using strategy, cunning or brute force to conquer Sauron’s forces and turn them against him.

If you can’t wait to get your hands-on Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the new Xbox One S Shadow of War Bundles are the best way to do it this October. Both bundles include:
